VB 6.0 vs. VB.NET

Hi, I hear VB.NET can basicly take your normal windows program and convert it to a web form. I have some programs that we want to make web based versions of and I'm trying to figure out whats the best route to take. If you have any websites or anything that will help me I'd really appreciate it!

Thanks a lot!!
