These guys worked with me now after 2 months of purchasing their product. I had a .htaccess problem, not really related to their program, and I called them up at 4:55pm on friday and they fixed the issue. I can't say enough good things about them. To see it in action, view www.areahotspot.com

Here are just a few of the problems encountered with this script. When you protect a directory the script generates a .htaccess and .htpasswd file. When a member pays for a subscription they are suppose to have access to the protected directory - upon payment, however, most of the times, the .htpasswd file does not populate with the member's password and the member is denied access. This problem has been reported by severl people on the boards with no response from the author. When you do get this to work, the script allows your member to access and change their files. Unfortunetly, if they elect to change their password the associated .htpasswd file is not updated to reflect the change made so the member is denied access to the member area (This tends to piss them off). Alternatly there is a php sessions protection scheme. However, it too would not consistantly work. The affiliates part of the script does not give credit to the affiliate when someone clicks through the DreamAccount generated link to purchase a subscription - making the affiliate part of this script virtually useless. The manual payment feature allows you to enter manual payments for customers who made a payment via check or over the phone. However this feature does not work. It seems that DreamAccount is just a tweaked version of the HostAdmin program from the same author and a quick look at the code shows many references that have nothing to do with DreamAccount. The major problem with this script is that there is a huge lack of support - that is the reason these problems still exist even through all the upgrades. I gave up and purchased another script.

That's 1 word that explains the support and the product. These guys impressed me. They worked with me every step of the way. For custom changes, they were priced very reasonable. There are a bunch of addons already. If you need a system for user management.. Why waste time with others, this does it all. Just installed a few days ago and it works like a 'Dream'. :) The few support questions I had were answered immediately in a helpful manner, great email responce time. The software works as advertised, I am able to accept both PayPal and Authorize.net for my subscription. I would say this new version is well worth the wait - any bugs from the last version are gone without a trace, which is probably why customer service responses are so fast.

On the surface this script looks very professional, however, the lack of support ruins any chance of the nonprogrammer using this script. On the site, it state that 4 months of support is povided with purchase. The "support" is handled through a forum, with no access until you buy the script. The forum is full of frustrated people who's qestions are mostly not answered. The author does not answer the phone number provided on the site, they also do not reply to their email.

This is the easiest to use subscription billing and access control program I have ever used. It is easy to install and configure, and works as advertised, and is well priced for such a powerful program.
