Create unlimited categories and subcategories Options to require or not require reciprocal links Option to setup featured links and interface with the Paypal IPN Setup email notifications to let people know when you accepted their links and to let the admin know when a new links has been submitted. This is also an optional feature. Set the regional section to work at the city level, state and city level, or country, state and city level. The Regional Directory uses the Smarty templating system, allowing designers to create a design, while keeping the code separate. Uses PHP. It runs both on Linux and Windows, but Linux is the preferred environment. Installation is as simple as going to yoursite.com/install/ and following the instructions. You must install a mySQL database and set write permission on 3 folders. This version of the Regional Directory is based on phpLD version 2.1.2.

    The installation wasn't running smoothly because of an outdated PHP version. However, after a small change in the htaccess file it works very well and I am really satisfied with this free script that offers a lot of features. The zip comes with a language file, so the script can easily be translated into Dutch. Great!

    Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

    Regional link directory is quite well built, out of the box, its a little plain, although, customising to look nice is quite easy, templates are not available as such however, there are templates available for other free platforms that require little changes to make it work fine, as a product the regional link directory, iks awesome out of the box, it allows you to drill down from location to categories, which is great for SEO having location as weel as category in url's good work
