  • Currently offered for FREE (the payment area is "in progress"), this is not too bad a start. As of the version I downloadedd, 2.0.4E on May 12, 2003, there seems to be a problem with subcategories not working correctly. This is easily worked around by simply creating new main categories (ie: Travel, Travel - USA, Travel - Europe, etc.) It will likely be simple enough at a later time to renumber the listings to any new sub-categories when this is fixed. One major issue is the language and grammar throughout the program. Chae Hwa Suk, the author, is Korean and has several "interesting" ways of labeling and naming functions. Now I'm not in any way faulting him for this; his English is masterful compared to my Korean! Aside from humorous spelling errors, though, it does also leave much confusion in the Documentation which is very short, and makes figuring out what the numerous function names actually refer to (ie: comments vs votes vs reviews?) All this would be greatly assisted by someone who is more bilingual going through the PHP files and cleaning things up a little. Documentation is extremely sparse again likely due to the daunting task of writing detailed instructions n English. Although I was able to get things figured out after a bit of struggling, a newbie would just give up quickly, which is a shame; this program has good potential. Suk seems to know what he's doing as far as programming, but the potential for his program's usefulness and impact will remain limited unless he gets a little linguistic assitance. Once the script has better translation, then people will likely start to come up with Language and Template packs beyond the very simple ones offered in the package. Still, it's well worth having a look at, it does look like it can go somewhere with a little help.
