Max's Guestbook is a simple PHP based guest book script. All messages are stored in a flat file so no database is required. Very easy installation, you only need to upload the files to your web server and that's all. Changing the look of the script is easy as well using CSS. An example code is attached to the installation package.

Insecure - vulnerable to XSS

Please note that Max's Guestbook is deemed insecure due to XSS vulnerabilities (e.g. http://securityvulns.com/Vdocument15.html) and has not been updated since 2008.
Use to be great.

It may be easy to install, but it's impossible to control spam signatures. I've had a lot of spam on one day. In order to delete these spam signatures, I have to go on the host site and delete each signature one by one. Not worth it anymore, it used to be awesome. I highly recommend a guestbook that you can control this better.

Very easy to use and it works! Unlike other scripts that I've been trying with ... it is not really complicated at all and solves the purpose. Good Job Max!

It works and it' simple. It can use a better layout though.. well that's something you can always work on.
