Same user-friendly customizable interface as our free shopping cart, plus browser-based order processing, catalog administration, and automatic e-mail notification. Catalogs and products are fully searchable from every page by category, product name, product description, or price level.

    It does what is says but the level of support is abysmal. You feel the author won't even set up a forum in case users help each other. Perhaps the weirdest thing is that he only responds to "Webmaster". Even asking directly forhis first name drew a blank. I found a much better solution - with a free verson too - and the support is friendly fast and knowledgeable. Give MetaCart a miss and keep searching.

    Runs great right out of the box, but even if you get a paid version, the support is grudging. Support is for out of the box set-up ONLY - if you want the sole programmer to answer any questions, like "Can I... ?" it's $75 an hour and he means it. Not a problem if you have a working knowledge of ASP, but if you don't, read the "guest book" BBS on the site for a flavour of the help you will find. Not very paletable at all.
