minishowcase is a very simple AJAX/JSRS-enabled image gallery written in PHP and with NO NEED of a complex *SQL/XML database. Since all the interaction is based on AJAX/JSRS methods, it is a very fast and responsive gallery, and a very handsome one. Extremely easy to install and configure, it will allow you to have a nice running gallery in a few minutes.

    A simplest photo gallery, but also very beautiful and powerful. I remember that it creates thumbnails automatically, jpg and gif. The programming is pro.
