The Multi Router Traffic Grapher (MRTG) is a tool to monitor the traffic load on network-links. Generates HTML pages containing graphical images which provide a LIVE visual representation of this traffic. These graphs can be a great first step when network troubleshooting and more. Runs on Linux, Unix, Windows, and many other operating systems. Requirements are a PERL enabled OS, and a device or OS that supports SNMP.

    I find it hard to belive that this is was not rated yet? I have been using mrtg on many systems for many years. I only use it for monitoring bandwidth on switches and routers. but it can monitor any stat available from SNMP, processor usage, fan temprature etc. It is not so hard to use, and mrtg kindly give you links to many mrtg gurus white papers. the only thing i dont like is that you need to run pearl, which can be a bit alien on a 2003 .net server :). I would rate it higher than many commercial products, and with far better support. I thought it was the industry standard
