It works, and very well too! Which is why I gave it a high rating, however, the software appears to be dragging its heels in developing itself. Its been well over a year since it moved from 1,2x to 1.3. It would be nice to see a version 2 sometime soon.

I use PHPNews on my website, and it works perfectly. It's really easy to use, and it fits well with any site design. You can customize the look of the news, headlines and archives, and you can have as many categories as you like. Plus, you can include category icons (optional). It's very easy to use and the people on the PHPNews website message boards are extremely helpful and quick to reply. Highly recommended!

It is quick to install, taking about 5 minutes on a 56k dial-up modem. A very small portion of which you have to enter your database details, makes this very easy to install aswell - just make sure you spell everything correctly (unlike me ;) ).
