Popper is one of the very few easy to install, easy to configure webbased email systems with all functionality you would wish. I really like how easy and well it works. It's very easy to maintain user accounts and is professional The only thing I dislike on Popper is that you cannot easily skin or customize the layout. It has a kind of stupid layout of a window within your normal bowser window. I would have liked it if Popper fully filled my browser, fully stretchy. Also It would be great if I could use a custom header and footer betweeen which the popper app. will show. The current layout is too strict and will be 'out of style' very soon. The window sizes differ everytime. The metafore of windows is easy to use for non-experienced users, but annoying and childish for a normal user. But hey, this is my review, a graphic fetishist. I'm still very glad I finally found a php/mysql webbased program that's a joy to work with.

I think it is one of the best applications for web based e-mail management I've seen. It is highly configurable and the user interface is very similar to MS Outlook so even not experienced users will be able to use it. However, Popper also has some disadvantiges: it does download *all* e-mails every time you check for mail, so you get a lot of duplicate messages all the time (which is quite annoying unless you configure Popper to delete messages from the server); it does store messages in the database (MySQL) what might be inconvinient for certain types of usage. Overall: excellent!
