SignMe
SignMe is a simple guestbook script that consists of just 5 files. Data are stored in a flat file so you don't need any databases. It's very simple to install and to include into any sites's design. At the beginning of the mainfile you can edit all necessary settings such as admin login and password, style definitions and language specific stuff. Also you can easily change the look and feel of how the posts are shown by editing the template file.

I've only just started developing my own sites and I have been sifting through hundredes of scripts for a simple guestbook implementation. This is the one! It is incredibly easy to configure, install and customize to your site. It looks great and doesn't bog the user or administrator down with heavy add-ons. I'm not a coder so I can't speak to that end, but reading the reviews of those more knowledgeable has me feeling very comfortable with using this script. I am extremely happy with it.

This was the first script I was able to add to a site when just starting out. After a year of learning and advancing, this is still the script I would use for a simple guestbook. It's simple to install, easy to adapt to the needs of the site, and the coding is clean and simple. It works with a flatfile, so no database is needed. Hooray for that! If you're doing a personal site, or any site that just needs a clean, straight-forward guestbook, this is a great way to go.

Even though I am a high end PHP user, this guestbook script was perfect for the implementation I was looking for. It can easily be installed and used anywhere (which is great for dynamic CMS sites where you want to integrate the guestbook into an overall site look). Although I've made some small mods to my implementation (which was made very easy by the developer's excellent coding style) it is ready to go within a minute or two of downloading if you have some rudimentary skills.
