Willow Job Tracking System

I was unable to find the GPL version of this script when I first reviewed it last month. Thanks to other reviewers, I have been able to find and review the GPL version. I like it. A lot. This is a very nice, clean script with a lot of nice features. It is indeed hard to find, but it's a 5 in my book.

I'm very impressed with this script. Ed was incorrect when he said it was not free. There are two versions. The free one was added to Hotscripts months ago. They recently introduced a "pro" version. The free product can be found by following a link on their home page. Quote: "This is the free version of Job Tracker Pro. Willow is a great script with a lot of features. It actually comes in two flavors. One is GPL, the other is not. The GPL version is the version listed on Hotscripts, but the link to the download is set up to make it much easier to find the non-GPL "Pro" version than it is to find the free GPL version. I could easily give the GPL script alone a 5, but give it a 4 because the links to the GPL version currently seem more obscure than necessary. That said, the GPL version has *a lot* to offer.

I was searching for two things: a PHP groupware script to let a diverse group of users coordinate a common set of tasks, and a well written script with a well designed framework to advance my understanding of PHP. I found both in Willow (with Smarty templates thrown in).

My company has been using this system for a few months and it's made a terrific difference in how we receive, begin and complete jobs. Our department can now easily track who's taking care of a specific jobs, who has worked on it in the past (as a reference if the task has been assigned to someone else), and keep a running trail of any and all information associated with the task so we can reference it. If you're worried about implementation, don't be. It's quite simple. I definitely recommend Willow!!
