xmlCalendar
xmlCalendar uses an XML file to display events on a tabular calendar. You choose which day begins the week. The calendar automatically displays the current month and users can navigate to past and future months. xmlCalendar also includes a 12-month display. Adding, editing, and deleting events in the XML file is simple. A stylesheet is used to easily change the calendar design. Weekend days or other days of your choice can be automatically highlighted. Days listed with events can appear differently than other days. You can even setup event categories with special CSS classes. Event titles can also work as hyperlinks to additional information. You choose in which language and format day and month names are displayed.

The example files made it easy to have a calendar online quickly. The generated code validates and there is complete control over presentation via the external style sheets provided.

Why make things complicated when one can make them simple ? This script is impressive by its facility of use. Just a XML file and your calendar is available, and, with an intelligent use of a style sheet, the calendar can be very easily adapted to the colors of the site. With the last update, It is now possible to use a color for each category of events. Thanks Jon to have made this script !

This php script creates a simple tabular calendar that is exactly what I was looking for. Events are entered in an easy XML format. I could have continued making a new table every month, or generating sloppy code with Front Page, or written my own script, but xmlCalendar has saved me several hours of pointless work. Our nonprofit needed a simple, accessable calendar, and we found it in xmlCalendar.
