  • It's a good product, but... - You need to pay extra for support on a tool you bought!!!! - Many bugs. - The bugs forum sucks, nobody answers, even if you suffer from a bug that does not let you deploy your app.

  • Spent the last 14 days (not 20 days) learning how to utilize this RAD for building an actual much needed application I've been putting off. Being a hands on type of person, what better way to learn a new tool. However, if you have a project that needs to be built sooner rather than later you might want to hold off. My first experience with RAD's started with AppGini. For a really basic RAD, its really super easy. But for this project, I needed to do more then add, change, view and delete data. I spent all of 5 minutes on each of the other RAD's and Scriptcase came across as something that provided me the rudimentary functionality that I was looking and then some when I need it. Scriptcase has both an easy and hard learning curve. Putting together a simple form application is pretty straight forward. Not as simple as AppGini but still relatively easy. The hard part came when trying to figuring out how to manipulate the tool in order to create basic logic processes. For example, I know how to actually code this in PHP, but through the RAD, I'm still trying to figure out how to pass session variables back and forth. Scriptcase's knowledge library, FAQ's, and tutorials are okay. But I still ended up having to contact someone on their support staff on a few occasions to clue me in on how to do something basic, like setting the select to autofill the next select. Its easy once you know what to click. You just have to keep reminding yourself to just do it Scriptcase's way. What would be nice is a walk-through manual of a robust application. Something that takes advantage of the different settings, features and functions the RAD has to offer. But actually shows you how to do it. The videos are okay if you are just looking for ideas. But for an hands on type of person like me, its yet another step to deal with if you have zero experience with Scriptcase. A printable PDF of an actual robust application that I can walk-through, refer back to, jump forward, etc. in order to give it a try would be great. Bottom line: I like this RAD, if they keep tweaking on this based on user's input it would make having to actually learn this RAD worthwhile. Don't expect to create an awesome, fully functional application overnight. This is a kin to learning a whole new programming language like Swift. Its deceptively easy. But teaching yourself on how to use this tool and implementing the available features will take a lot of dedicated time to learn I can definitely see. once you master this RAD, where you can save time building any type of application you can think of. Lastly, where I'm having a hard time with is shelling out $400 plus, for a single license that's limited to just one database. If they are looking for wider acceptance, they'll need to drop the price down to give us noncommercial developers to a chance to become proficient using it. And something that would mean something on my resume.

  • Scriptcase is helping me a lot on my projects. We have a big and old ERP and it does not have everything we current need, so with Scriptcase I am able to develop small solutions to solve bit problems we have, using the same data base from the monster (the ERP). This is geat! So next big step will build the complete ERP, i am look forward!

  • A bug that comes from version 6 on basic search operations and several times reported is still present. The concept of the tool is interesting, but the operation in real customer projects has not been possible because the quality is not enough for a professional tool for a mistake that the manufacturer does not consider important and that in the real world is essential: The end user expects the search filters work and the disappearance of some options and other options repeated several times by the tool are not acceptable for professional projects and prevent applications created can be used efficiently. After two years with the tool, the experience has been pretty bad.

  • The new version 7 allowed me to make all my application acessible via mobile, this is a huge step to my customers.

  • Very easy to use, learning by doing is very simple. Many components to create large, strong applications which can be easy developed to web. Great tool.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

  • I'am using SCRIPTCASE 6, since march 2012. It generate Web applications in PHP extremely fast. Develop powerfull applications with AJAX support for the WEB through an exciting and completely Framework. Multiply the develop time of your team building: web forms, html reports, pdf reports, menus, editable grids, webhelp, charts, auto-complete, master/detail, database dictionary, sql builder. Export the report in many types, such as: XML, XLS, CSV, RTF. Build and manage your projects with quality, saving time, lowering costs and increasing productivity. Through a friendly interface, scriptcase can be easily accessed by many differents developers through the browser. You can conncect scriptcase to the main databases in the market, such as SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, MYSQL, Postgres, and also creates applications using multiple database

  • I have been developing database applications for 25 years now. My favourite development tool has always been Clarion from SoftVelocity. However when I realized the potential of PHP and MySQL/PostgreSQL to develop web based applications I started looking for a RAD tool to develop PHP. The paradigm I am looking for is a clever tool that will generate flawless code (across multiple browsers) every time to take care of the mundane programming tasks while I can focus my time on working with the data and business logic and do very little PHP coding. Scriptcase gave me exactly that and after 2 weekends of evaluating the product and watching the the excellent training videos I was hooked. The paradigm of configuring a template together with my SQL knowledge and then make the tool generate bug free code is the key to productivity. I can then embed code at strategic embed points. This paradigm also makes the developed application very easy to support across multiple developers and you don't have to get into each developers programming style since it is dictated to a large degree by expert PHP programmers from Scriptcase. The other big advantages that Scriptcase brings is all the templates (Applications in Scriptcase terms), easy way to graph/present data, support multiple languages, provide a standard framework for security and logging and provide an simple and intuitive way to define the whole application in one project that can be maintained and packaged for production. To me this us like programming with a Bulldozer instead of using a pick and shovel.

  • We were looking for something to quickly develop some database apps a few years ago and looked at Scriptcase. We were so impressed that we upgraded to the Enterprise version last year! Support is good, although a little slow in responding on occasion, but the time differences don't help. Makes creating a new db app, especially a 'one-off' for a customer or internal use, much easier and efficient and lets you create a much nicer GUI than most of the other script generators out there. Would highly recommend!

  • I use the tool since 07/30/2008. I think the tool really much to do intressante applications in minutes. Make Inquiry and graphic forms is really very productive because the result is done within minutes Well worth a download test and then buy :)

  • ScriptCase is able to create everything you need to build a complete web system. They release great features on each version of the software. I am now able to create a complete system in about 2~3 days. I'm satisfied with their strong customer service.

  • I've used ScriptCase since 2010. Bought recently a Enterprise serial key for Version 6. NetMake indeed don't had the best custommer service back then, but i'm here to speak about the product. ScriptCase itself is AMAZING. It is the best way to build a complete database manipulation system quick as hell. I can create 1 form and 1 grid for each table I have on my database (about 200 tables) in 10 minutes. The application edition is not so free as I want, it is not easily customizable, but I also tried JScriptCase(Joomla integration) and I got really good results. I really love ScriptCase's easy "way-to-do" things. Everything I need is already available through some internal functions. They have a lot to improve, but it is not bad the way it is.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

  • ScriptCase allowed me to foccus only in the important programming work of my project. It already have all the interface, connection routines and common functions for me, it also divides the application in events, where i can insert my code to build the application's behaviour. I really loved it, I was able to finish my project in about 20 days, when it could take me 2~3 months.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

  • Not recommend its documentation is bad, no good and no help. do not buy it. I lost my money buy you something better.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

  • I use scriptcase for more then 3 years and never have all those problems, once in a while when i need some support they aways help me out doing as much as they can, a looong time ago i have to agree that the support was kind of abandoned but last year i can tell you that i have no problems. I have to say that when the release a big change, like go from version four to version 5 for example, aways there is some issues but fixed ASAP. nother thing that i realy enjoy is that they are aways listening to what you have to say, inside the forum or from the feedback application from their page, aways improving the tool. I realy recommend this framework to everyone!

  • The ScriptCase is an awesome tool which came to help me on the way I make my web applications, I used to spend months doing a single web project and now I have been saving my time using this PHP code generator. The support does really help me when I need them, it is good for me because I get the option of talking to them in English, they are very helpful. I advise you to use this tool!!!!

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

  • I hadn't any big problem to use Scriptcase. The videos and samples from the site help me so far to understand how to use it. The Calendar and Dashboard applications are amazing. I hope that Scriptcase could generate to mobile in a future.

  • Worst product, that never works Ask support in english support team sends in a language that you never understand Version names on site are different and the product that you purchased are different. Support team do not know what their product as they do not know how to fix the issue. Never ever even try to look at this product.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

  • WORST technical and customer service ever. They don't try for a single time to help you. If you need to tweak the generated code to overcome the Scriptcase limitations, it's hell on earth as the code is badly organised and really hard to find the line you search for. Their documentation is useless and they don't specify the requirements for the server where the generated application will run on. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

  • The Documentation is horrible. The Support cant solve problems. Updates, that did not work kost me days. Stay away from this and save your monney. Code Quality and overall quality of this produckt is bad or non existig. I tun away from this. If you want to do more than one or two little Apps. It is verry frustratig. save your soul dont use this crap.

  • I have tested some PHP generator softwares and in my opinion scriptcase is the best so far. phpmaker, codecharge, phprunner and others are good but if you need simple forms and reports. I feel a little bit stuck using frameworks. When I got Scriptcase I thought that would be one more of those stuck softwares, but it surprised me a lot. It allows to customize the applications with your own php code allowing to insert rules in your application. It can be a little complicated in the begin, but the examples and videos available in the site saved me. Some points can be improved yet as the CSS editor and menus. In general the cost can be a little expensive if you have multiples developers to work with the tool simultaneously but this powerful tool is worth the investment. It is amazing what you can do when you learn to use Scriptcase.

  • I bought V5 s after trialling V4 it for a few weeks. Another example that the latest update isn't necessarily better. The inbuilt macros didn't work for me (unknown function errors), deployment didn't work, ie I wasn't able to upload and install my project to a production host server (causes Internal Server Error), The English Help file is extremely difficult to read... I gave up and have gone back to PHPRunner which, for all its faults, stands head and shoulders above scriptcase, IMO.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
