Dear Hot Scripts Members

Are you a "lurker"? We know you are out there... watching, waiting.. Don't worry, if you aren't familiar with the term it's nothing bad. A lurker in forum lingo is someone who hangs back from posting, usually because they are shy, or don't feel they have anything interesting to contribute.

I've been hanging around forums for many years now, but I still remember my first post and just how nerve-wracking it was hitting the "submit" button. It's true, some forums can be pretty savage - but the new Hot Scripts Forums is a different kind of place.

While we deal with advanced topics, you'll also notice that we have extensive resources for the beginner as well. We'd like to encourage those of you who are taking your first tentative steps into web development to ask your questions. For the more expert amongst the membership, your assisting of these other members and sensitivity to the fact that they are new to posting is greatly appreciated.

I have learned so much from forums over the years, it's incredible; not just about web design and development, but also about people - and that's what an online community is all about.

See you on the forums - and while you are there, take a minute or three to participate in our community satisfaction survey. Valuable feedback from our members is how we measure what we're doing right, and what we're doing wrong.
