The Zoom Search Engine enables web developers to easily add an industrial-strength custom search to their website. An easy-to-use application that requires no complicated server-side set-up procedures, it can also create search engines for intranets, CDs and DVDs. Zoom can process up to 300 queries a minute and can index and search 1000’s of web site domains in a single index. The Enterprise Edition will be able to index up to 1 million pages.
Features: wildcard & exact phrase searching; context search results; Highlighted words; spelling/synonym suggestions; exclusion/negative searches; image thumbnails in search results; prioritized links; incremental indexing, content filtering, broken link detection, A9 and OpenSearch compatible, XML/RSS output (CGI only); Sitemap generation; international language support; statistical graphs & reports. Depending on the version selected Zoom can run on PHP, ASP, Javascript and CGI platforms and is able to index and search a variety of file types.

This was the easiest script I've ever installed. A very professional package, which you can get up and running immediately, and then fine-tune to your heart's content. Lots of features, including search word statistics (like "Top 10 search words") and spelling suggestions ("Did you mean...?"). Pretty much everything is configurable and you can turn on/off what you need. It produces fast and accurate results, and the search engine is now a vital part of my website.

It doesn't get any easier than this. Zoom's system takes care of all the work for you -- no keywords to enter, no scripts to install -- just plain, simple setup-and-go. I've been running and installing scripts for years, and this one's by far been the easiest to drop into a site. It has a ton of customization tools, and you can make the engine look graphically any way you want for seamless integration into your site. Can't say enough good things about this script -- a superior product all the way around!

It really does not get any better!
The process begins with a PC application that allows you to configure and select every aspect of the engines operation. It even uploads all the files to your server for you - all fully configured and ready to go. From downloading the free copy it took half an hour to get it all running. A further half day messing with layouts ( you know that always takes the most time!) and then we bought the key and went live the following day. Brilliant.

Zoom pre-indexes files or an entire web site off-line and then allows lightening fast on-line searches. With very little computer knowledge, it installs in a few minutes with the most useful defaults. It has intuitive set-up screens and schedules itself and runs at night. It does its own uploads and is trouble free. Although it has a wealth of options, its big advantage on 'free' scripts is that you will never invest hours and hours in making it run properly or even understanding how it works.

I love the fact that it's self contained and free for small sites. I tried linking to online search engines, but I want instantanious crawling... I like that fact that I can update the search index everytime I update the site, AND I was able to customize the search results page to blend with my site's color schemes. I highly recommend this program!!
