EZmenu is a multi-level DHTML menu system
that offers high performance and speed, extensive
browser compatibility, richness of features (3
dimensional effects, animation, shadows, etc),
versatility, ease of use (no scripting knowledge
required) and a small footprint. Virtually every part of the menu can be customised.

EZmenu in JavaScript :: Navigation :: Menus

EZMenu would be a great product if it weren't for a few things that caused me to abandon using it. Foremost it should not be listed as "free for commercial use" because the free version launches a window to Web-Nova's site which isn't apparent until after you've gone to the effort of building a full menu. In other words, when the user clicks on one of YOUR menu options a window opens to Web-Nova's site. Only then will your menu function as intended and closing the window causes the same behavior to repeat. Also, while the process of building a menu is simple, adding or modifying your menu is not exactly click and drag. You have to maintain a text file containing the options you selected in EZMenu's builder page unless you feel brave enough to edit the JavaScript code it generates. So it can take sometime to make major changes to your menus. Other than that the documentation is good, the menu has a clean polished look and works very well.

EZmenu is extremely versatile and easy to use menu making program for beginners. I have absolutely no experience with Javascript and I created a couple of fantastic menus using EZmenu. I found that the menumaker interface is simple enough to be easy for beginners to use, but also quite thorough for those who need to create really complex menu systems.

Ezmenu is very easy to use especially if you are a beginner with no experience with Javascript. I have been able to create multiple menus with fully customizable colors and fonts. Just be sure to save your work to a text file so you can make changes later. The layout of the menu maker interface is very refined and simple. The menus that you can create with Ezmenu are very professional looking and clean. Highly recommended for those of you who need an extra hand creating nice looking menus and have no experience with coding.

I also have zero Javascript skills, but really wanted that menu for my website. As the other reviewer found, unless you buy it, you can't get it to point anywhere except to their own site. They offer support to the "free" version, but no email address that works. That said, after I bought it, the support desk bent over backwards to help me through the little problems I ran into. They couldn't have been better and, all in all, I'm pleased to have paid for it. The value is there and I'm satisfied.

I have tried more menu systems than I care to remember. Some did not have options I needed, others seemed to interfere with other scripting I was using.
EZ Menu did not have the problems of many other menu systems. I found it to have all the features I need, plus many more! And it works seamlessly with other scripts running on my web site.
In my opinion, you'll find EZ Menu to be well worth the small investment and will serve your needs for a long time to come.
Well done indeed!

Good, but here's why it only gets a "2"., Jul 12, 2006

I've used EZmenu a few times in the past with great success. It's easy to work with and produces reasonably good results. I'm giving it a "2" now because the company seems to have vanished. Their only published email address bounces messages with "mailbox full". You can go through the whole buying process but you won't get any confirmation (or the software itself). Since it's a decent product that apparently isn't being sold or supported at all, I say AVOID THIS SOFTWARE.
