Nice little app. Easy to install and provides just the right amount of info for me - page impressions on the pages where the "require" line is installed. Recommended.

The script is not versatile. It provides you with no good hits summary or any kind of summary at all! All you have is a CLF file and a list of hits (where it came from, ip addr, time&date).
With all due respect to the author, the script is not as useful as the website states. I mean, let's talk basics. Why do people install counters? To know how many visitors they had today, yesterday, last month, last year, etc. Well, PHPCounter provides to such knowledge to them...

I have use PHPCounter for some time now, it is the first time I am using a Counter and it is surprising the information you can get with it. My knowdlege in PHP is basic-intermidiun, and the coding for the counter looks great, I am not an expert to judge if it is good or bad or short in terms of programming, coding and what it does, but by now it is giving me incredible results.
I like it and totally recomend it.

The PHP Counter gives you details of who is on your site, when they got there, how they got there, and compiles the information into easy to read stats of every attribute you can imagine. This program was very well put together and the author is very helpful in solving any problems. Thank you so much!

I downloaded PHPCounter after I got fed up with the counters that I had at the time.
Within about 10 minutes, I had it up and running, and running very well indeed.
In addition to counting visitors, PHPCounter also has an impressive multitude of statistics tools, such as a list of individual unique visitors, and a graph that shows the relative popularity of each of the 24 hours of the day (these are 2 of my favourites). In addition, it has a very smooth, fast, and aesthetically pleasing interface

this script was very easy to install, though I'd hardly call it an "install." It's really just unzipping the files into your web folder, and adding a line to your webpage. good documentation, and great support from the author.

This seemed to work fine at first, but after a while I noticed it was registering way too many hits (on all pages) - a few million instead of a few thousand (as reported by awstats). I deleted the data files and the same thing happened after a while.
It's a little difficult to preload the count - you can only do this on the first visit, so you have to be quick, and the names of the count files are hashed so you can't easily find the one for the page(s) you want.
No commas in the counts.
