Purchased this scripts and installed it, was a pretty simple install, however found numerous bugs in the software. Men's profiles coming up in a search for females, member administration drop down list not being populated, support was ok nothing more!

This is the best dateing script for the money, period! It rivals and surpasses scripts costing $5,000+. If you are serious about starting a dateing site and are looking for the right script, stop looking. You have found it.

This is without doubt the best dating script I have tried. It works very well for a general purpose script. The biggest advantage is that it can be modified into what you want it to be and there is a great support forum to get tips and ideas for those that purchase. I have seen $1000+ scripts not nearly as good as this one. There are still a couple of minor bugs, but nothing that could keep the script from going live within minutes for anyone who purchases. I highly recommend this script.

The WebScribble team is patient, supportive and fast! The webDate software delivers. I have tried dating/matching scripts from other companies and have run into so many issues that my experiences with webDate are much appreciated. I wish I had licensed webDate first!

I wouldnt know where to start. Should I start with the AWESOME features, or the AMAZING support? The new version gives the big boys like match.com a run for their money. This costs only $200! Thanks to them, I am now running a website that is at par (if not better) than most of the paid, top 10 websites.
Installation was a breeze. YES, there WERE some issues, but they were all resolved within a few hours. Support response times were awesome. These guys work real hard, often late at night! I have emailed support sometimes at 1 AM and hace received a response back in 10 minutes!
I have no idea why these other people have any complaints. The software is bug free - all features work as advertized. Especially the new version, Ver 2.0. The level of support offered is better than what you get for paid support. In all, these guys have spent at least 30 hours of support time for me, all free. This was because I HEAVILY customized the site.

I've been using webDate for some time now and have been reasonably happy with it. I believe webDate is a great dating site solution for somebody who wants a fast start up and turn over without a large upfront cost. The script has had a few minor bugs which are slowly being corrected with each release. New versions have seen many new features and bug fixes. The 2.0 release has been a big leap forward in features for the administrator and there si still a lot of growth room for this product. A feature you should be aware of before purchasing webDate is the license authentication system which requires the web scribble server to be running. If their server is not available at any point in time, your webDate site admin section is rendered unusable. The users front end part remains active but access to the admin panel returns an error. The scripts are encoded with Zend so you can not easily correct this problem. Other than that, the script is a good solution for running an online dating site or adding a personals section to your already established community.

During install you will detect things are not as they should be! the script demands that fopen() in PHP is enabled, now, as standard this is disabled, I have been told for a good reason (not being a guru this lost me!) anyway every day this script contact webscribble and informs them you are using the script, after speaking with support they say insist this must happen.
Basically don't use if you value keeping control of your server settings!

I purchased this script and was constantly having problems. Script has many bugs. Most features did not work properly.I sent many emails to Web Scribble support reporting these problems, but didn't always hear back from them.
Their support is good until you buy.. People at WebScrible care just how to get your money. Be very carefull! Look elsewhere.

The one’s who reviewed webdate and gave 4 stars in 2004-2005 either had a lucky break or they work for webscribble. I’ve been their customer for over two years now. I remember being able to call them and Alexey would answer. And help out. That was good support. You had to because the product was very buggy, and during that time they seemed to be on the ball game and have a good support.
Now, It’s obvious webscribble has lost some customers and not making sales (due to their (buggy software, don’t believe me, visit their support forums). When you call them for technical support their answering machine tells you to go to their website and enter a support ticket. So you go to their website and submit a ticket but no one ever gets back to you or they take about a week
They encoding of their script now which they should have focused on fixing their bugs. Right now they are focused way to much on people ripping them of than producing a quality product and assisting their current customer.
After two years, I’ve managed to switch to another company’s script on this site which I won’t disclose because do not believe in slamming a business. But I do believe that people work hard for their money and when they buy a product should get soothing that works out of the box or its called something on the line of “defective”. And if customer service is part of that price tag than then that company should warrant best business practices and uphold their initial promise.
I’ve seen some really good scripts and support on here and this unfortunately is not one of them.
Good luck to you all who have the script, as you're stuck with it.

The Webdate is one of the best dating system, I've tested. It's the best price for all features and its really easy to use, configure and manage it. Support is simply amazing!! they answer my questions within hours, even on weekends!

On the whole a good package with plenty of features and the admin panel is well laid out and easy to use. It could do with quite a few more enhancements e.g. the mass mailing of members is very limited in its functions, and the collection of stats could be greatly improved.
Support (when it's there) is good but just when they seem to be responding quickly everyhing goes silent again, it takes 48 hours to get a response to an email, the phone line goes to vm even during US business hours, and there's often no one on the live chat.

I bought the script in 2003. I also host my website with webscribble and had it hacked into. My website was advertised on overture and several publications. I don't even know how long time I had a page up that said "Hacked in by Diablo" but I know that nobody could have registered on the site during this period of time.
It took me one day to get the site restored by the tech support so that was ok but now all my custom designed pages and work was gone. I also asked to have the script updated to the last version and a tech support did not check if I had a previouse website so all of the files where now over written. Good thing was that I had downloaded all the files after the restoration of my site since the "update" erased all my photo files for clients. Also most of the features of the site are not working, neither on the front end or the admin. One of the tech support sent me an email that suggested that they could give me a quote to upload the files manually to restore the functions of the site....that I of course will not accept since they are the ones that that got me into this to start with. I think that someone that is a tech support should be able to see when they login to to the ftp that the site already has a database and all the folders and files there. What if I had thousands of profiles??
I have now been waiting for since the 9th which will be 6 days to get the site going as it should again. The support has been very slow. I can't even retrieve my member login info from them and i have requested it 4 times in the last 2 days. I am very frustrated at this point.

This is another example of a script that is almost somewhere but is encoded, leaving you nothing you can do about performance issues and options on the admin end of the script. We had significant performance issues as the database of users grew larger. We also wished the admin panel had more items integrated into it. Couldn't do anything about it because areas of concern were encoded. Better than many but that isn't saying much, especially if it won't work so well after reaching a certain size.

I have read through all of the reviews - positive and negative, and can honestly say that my experience with Web Scribble has been nothing but phenomenal. I am a programmer who is fairly experienced in PHP and I found the code to be not only efficient and fast, but very easy to edit and modify. Some sections of the admin area were encrypted, and when contacting Web Scribble about this, their staff explained to me how to achieve what I wanted to do. I figured I wouldn't able to modify anything in the admin area, but the parts that were encrypted turned out to be code that I would never need to modify. In fact, their admin area code is structured so well that it took me literally minutes to add new plugins once I figured out how their plugin system worked. My deadline for my client was 2 months and with the help of webdate I was able to deliver it in less than a month. My client was very happy with the results, and I would recommend this software package to anyone who is looking for a serious piece of software.

A fantastic piece of software. Web Scribble has left out no details, and I'm very impressed with the functions that come with the basic package. The templates are great as well, by altering the templates, I could change the entire look and feel of the client's site that I'm working on. When my customers are looking for dating sites in the future, I'm definitely going to purchase addditional licenses. This is the best dating software I have ever seen.

I purchased this software and can not receive support. They work at their own pace and care nothing about the businesses they provide their software to. I would HIGHLY encourage anyone to keep looking if they are serious about running a dating site.

This review is a bit of a mystery to us, since customer support is our highest priority. This client put in over 20 support tickets over the course of less than 3 days, mostly because he started a website transfer and moved his site incorrectly to a hosting environment which did not meet our server requirements. Our support staff worked with him through the weekend and got him back up and running. The client's frustration lay in the fact that we do not officialy offer support over the weekend, and that we do not offer phone support. His problems did not arise from the software, but as part of his website transfer that was performed incorrectly. All of his emails were answered within hours at the most, so it is unfair to say that we offer no support.

Great package. It pretty much does everything out of the box. Configuring your site is a matter of setting switches to do want you want. I customized the software layout and configuration with the help of their support team. They were great to me, and answered all my questions in a matter on minutes at times.

I have been a WebDate custom for a few years now, and their new engine for 2.0 works beautifully. I have only a little knowledge of HTML and was able to heavily customize this script to look and act as I wanted. I have purchased other scripts in the past, and none compare to the quality of the software and suuport, and their price is a bargain.

I purchased webdate about three months ago, and I have to say that I think it's a great product. The Web Scribble team really did a great job of workign out the kinks in the software and making sure that it is stable and virtually bug free. I ran into a problem or two, and they were quick to fix it. I only emailed them a few times, and response times were fast every time. I am a web developer, and I found this to be a product that suited my client perfectly. I will definitely be buying more!

I visited the webDate site and I found it interesting. A few days ago, I sent them a pre-sales ticket to ask some things about the billing system and the admin panel. The automated reply script sent me the details about the number of the ticket and the way I can log-in to check the ticket.
After some days, no answer. I log-in, suddenly no ticket created by me! After 2 reply tickets about what was going on, both of them were deleted again.
So, still I have got no answer from them.

Every issue I raise requires numerous emails back and forth to resolve. Their common reply is "works ok". They don't check their work, leaving you to figure things out yourself. There is no User Forum where users can help each other. I've purchased a lot of product from them I'm considering dumping.

3.0 beta works well. Has every feature that Match.com has. Installation requires Zend. If your host doesn't have this, I recommend SiteGround. They installed in 5 minutes. You can customize almost everything. Without knowing HTML you can change the answers to questions and change page layout. If you know HTML you changed their questions and completely customize layout. This requires no knowledge of PHP. I built a stuttering support database and a college alumni database (not personal ads).

That pretty much says it all. The script itself is not bad for the price range but when you need support (and you will!) it is terrible. Don't be fooled by the toll-free number or the supposed location of being in the U.S. I got attitude from them when trying to call right after purchasing and the only support is a ticket system obviously handled by a foreign contractor and the answers you get are seldom helpful, much less understandable. You will go back and forth with them repeatedly.

What you have here is 75% of a dating script. There are A LOT of bugs and many hidden issues that will make a heavily trafficed site a total mess: multiple databases allow conflicting information, a disordrly memeber management backend, inability to reorder inputs. This script *could* be usable by a very experienced programmer but much is encrypted and cannot be improved. Logic is not good generally, but there are some innovative areas. On and off support. Needs another year of development.

After going through two other scripts, I found webdate to be the best in terms of stability and support. I have tried many others, and they are just bug, and when you try to get support for the bugs, you never hear back. I found the Web Scribble staff to be responsive when I ran into the problem, and the software had very few problems after they installed it for me. I like that they are based in the US - I can pick up the phone and give them call if I need to speak to someone. Great work!

This is the worst software purchase I've ever made. It's amazing that a piece of software that's been around for a while can be so buggy. The support is sometimes helpful but usually so incredibly useless. Is Alexey the big cheese there? Well, he can be as useless as the rest of them. The only real support is pre-sale. After that it's sink or swim, and with the millstone of this bad software around your neck it's hard to swim.

I've spent months evaluating all of the different softwares out there, theres so many. I chose WebScribble because they seemed to have a good reputation and I could always call up to ask a quick question. After the purchase, they installed it for me quickly, and helped make some changes to my site. I now have 3,000 members in just two months, with some paying ones!

I got their 3.0 version and it's a HUGE improvement. The admin area wa redone, and it's so much easier to use and runs faster. They really did a good job with the new features (even added a few I've been asking for :)). Overall I'm very happy with the software and look forward to future improvements.

Unfortunately I have to agree with some of the bad reviews here. When I bought this script a few months ago I didn't think they were true, sadly they are. Presales support was great, however the only answer I got to all my questions after the purchase was "read the manual". One would think that after such a long time on the market there wouldn't be any bugs in the script, it's not so. I couldn't use it due to errors and had to recently switch to a different product. I wish I've done it earlier.

I've been looking for a dating software for 4 months now, and just noticed that WebScribble came out with a new version. I got it, and setup was a breeze and support was a great help in all aspects. WebDate blows the rest of the softwares I looked at right out of the water. Give these guys your serious consideration!

The guys at Web Scribble have created an aweseome new version. The new features are really nice, and it makes my site much more competitive. They also seem to have hired new support staff, as the responses I'm getting are now MUCH faster and more helpful. I usually get a reply within an hour and they've helped a ton!

I am going to make this short and to the point. I purchased the software with "EVERY" plug-in possible based on their recommendations. Although they claim to offer "FREE Technical Support", let me tell you it is a bait and switch. I had to pay 25% of my total purchase price to receive support. I purchased the additional support in August 2006 and today is December 15, 2006 and still NO support. If you don't believe me, check my website yourself at www.CaribDate.com. This product is TERRIBLE! Actually, it'd be ok if they actually offered real support. They ask that you submit tickets, but take several days to respond (if @ all).
They encrypt the coding on some of the most important areas, and brand their name and a link to their site within the admin, even if you're a reseller.
For member profiles, you can change options that are there, but can't ADD new options. (eg you can adjust the height, but try adding "weight" to the demo)
Also poorly coded.

I bought a copy of their webdate last year. The problems started right away. Very poorly written script. Starts out with really stupid things like no padding in tables, text was right against border.
Things got really crazy early this month when their "server" went down (is that something like "the dog ate my homework"? My website was reduced to a bunch of jiberish, webscribble made some very inept moves, like telling me to look at my own temp page and that was their site, that it was OK(???)
