This company only corresponds through email. No phone.
I wrote asking questions about the software and got very vague answers.
This might be a good product, but I am skeptical about what service I would receive if I made a purchase based on my first encounter with this company.

This is by far one of the best products I have purchased today. You can by it "as is" or get it completely customized. What makes this script incredible is the support. I went ahead and paid them twice because I felt guilty for all the support they were doing. They respond quick and their knowledge in the products capabilities in amazing. They are true php developers. If support is a major concern in buying it, that's the least of your worries. You can use this script for any directory.

I was very interested in the script, but having received no reply to two emails, I too am sceptical. I am reluctant to make an online payment in return for the script and free installation when they can't even respond to an email. Shame, the script looked really good. They must be losing a lot of business!

Since my last posting PHPMyDirectory have contacted me and I have purchased the script. Within 30 miniutes they installed and set-up the script on my server. The have been extremely helpful and responded very quickly to each of my emails. They are more than happy to make adjustments and undertake additional customisations, where possible.

Impresive script, very well managed and presented, with corporate look and stylesheet .css, Fast and very easy to install.
The best Directory Script from all the scripts here in HotScripts, don't look any forward get this one...

phpMyDirectory is the best php yellow page/directory php script of its kind, and keep getting better and better.
With the simplicity and flexibility of the script I was able to customize it and
apply my own GUI interface with no hassle without php knowledge. And when I need help for customizations, their support has been more than satisfying in getting the job done for an excellent price if not for free. phpMyDirectory and its support team has reached a level far beyond my initial expectations.

The phpMyDirectory is not only a great looking, professional directory but I have to say much more for the customer service. No matter when I had a question, I recieved quick and detailed responses. The service was outstanding alone. If that wasn't enough, the customization was fast and tied in with everything that I wanted. I can't say enough. I plan on purchasings at least 2 more for upcoming sites. If only everyone could provide great service and great product, we should all do so well.

A fabulous script that is well worth the money. It is customizable in every way to give you exactly what you are looking for. It's also VERY easy to install with no problems. I have bought this script and have worked on configuring the script for my requirements, and would like to comment on the following aspects of the script and the 'buy' as a whole.

This is the best directory script on the market!! I am not sure why the other person gave them a 1 and complained but all I can say is that I had an excellent experience with them. Answered emails very fast! I had this installed in a matter of minutes- very user friendly and provides you with a professional look!

I really investigated all products available before deciding on this script. Once your site is up and running it is too late to discover you are using the wrong software. In this case I can honestly say that there is no better around, even at 3 times the price. No matter what problem or obstacle I anticipated, phpMyDirectory had the solution. As for support - you can rest assured that their support is 100 per cent. You won't be disappointed.

This is a good script..worth the money I think, however, customizing it hasn't been easy. My programmer has found the code very difficult worth. On the other hand customer service is excellent and a limited amount of customizations is included in the price.

The product is encrypted, they do not tell you that up front. Also, if their server goes down, so does your admin panel -- because their server has to validate your license. They claim it is to avoid piracy. They do not have a telephone number or address to contact them at. Forum members are very helpful, and most of the time so are their developers. They are very quick at deleting postings on their forum if the contents are negative (true or not). If they run out of business, so will you!

The script includes 99% UNencrypted source code. It is also mentioned on the requirements page that the script requires ionCube to run which informs the user of the encryption. The license is validated through our servers but it is NOT true that your site will go down if our server is not up or we go out of business. The script uses local keys to prevent this. By January 1st, 2006 we will also have backup servers for those users who do not have the local keys setup correctly.

at the first view the software beats other packages, but the support, especially the bug fixing period is very very poor. Therefore you need some knowledge of php to fix the bugs. And the encription is anoying. I took a day to get the software running because of ioncube. And the problem for any encrypted version is really what happens, if....?

PHPMyDirectory.com has an incredible support Forum, with thousands of users who post comments, issues, and free modifications for use. The degree of customization that you can apply to PMD is amazing.
Support is constantly updating the script. The new version coming out soon (10.5) will have many new features that were requested by users. Third party developers have also developed modifications.
An easy to use language file can change the entire niche in less than 5 minutes.

I've been a customer for about the last six months. Overall, this is a great product with responsive support and a thriving community forum. After contacting support about a problem I encountered after upgrading (my fault) -- they were quick to fix the problem by doing the upgrade for me.
Overall, with quite a few 3rd part mods and good custom template support, this directory script is flexible and robust.

I would like to say that i spent a long while looking at directories on the internet that was available but phpMyDirectory beats the lot hands down, i know nothing about php but the help & support from Ben and his team are second to none plus the forums are a wealth of information where you only have to ask and someone is willing to help, the admin CP is very user friendly you could be up and running within a few hours. Go try the demo its a great bit of kit

I have been using this product for a month and am pleased with the purchase. It took me less than a week to completely reskin it to match the rest of my site...They encrypt some of the functions with ioncube, hasn't been a problem. They use AdoDB-lite for db functions (fast and simple). The forum/email support is super quick. Geo-locations is wierd, seems to be main hurdle for most. Feature rich, easy to customize. I wish it cached listings. Great Bargain, contends w/ apps 4 times it's cost.

This script is absolutely beautiful - on top of which I've used the pre-sales support and utilized the support ticket. Both experiences far exceeded my expectations. The code is great customizable. Support is fast in respondig via tickets. However the admin part is hardoced and if they sellers website is down you can not access the admin part... even that I have the key.php loaded.. my site is down now and I am very upset...

I have purchased the script a short time ago.
The support is very bad, i'm waiting a 10 days for an answer for a bug fix.
Also, THE SYSTEM NOT WORK IF PMD SITE GO DOWN.
In the support forum there are many posts relating this problem, because the script need to validate a license each time you log in on admin panel, if the PMD site is down you are cannot login.
It is happened with me too and i'm very stressed because PMD occult this detail before you buy the script.
I not recomend.

Also, the script -will not- go down if our site goes down. This user did not install the software correctly which resulted in their issue. I have customised lot of different varieties of scripts, some of the scripts took long time as well as made me mad to know what is every function going to do.
PHPMyDirectory script gave my first impression on the admin panel and the great features. Though this script is not so very popular like few other free restricted features scripts, I recommend this script to be the best for any one who whish to bring out a great directory.
Lot of good features are there, really impressive.

I've bought and used this for several months now and I am severely disappointed. Not only with the inflexibility of adjusting the script and other aspects for customization but also with their support, which is severely lacking and lax. I've had to wait up until two days or more for even a reply when the site was down, for example, after trying to install an upgrade, and then all I got was a rude reply. NOT RECOMMENDED. Spend your money on something else.

The script requires some HTML knowledge to modify the design of the site. It is most likely this user was trying to modify the PHP code for advanced modification and did not know enough PHP programming to do so.
As seen in other reviews, our support is very reliable. It is most likely that this user may have submitted a ticket on a Friday evening, and did not get a response until Monday, even though we try to answer on weekends.

I purchased it a week ago.
- The install was very smooth.
- The install documentation was straight to the point (and I don't like huge documents if something can be explained quickly).
- From the feature perspective - so far, I haven't found a missing one. I might find in the future (since, there is no silver bullet software). - I had questions regarding to customization - They usually respond relativelly quickly. No big words, instructions, again, straight to the point. Highly Recommended!

We've been implementing lots of directory software over the past few years, but phpmydirectory really amazed us. Not only the simple installation process, the options you have to customize the high level and speed of support. I had been searching for a long time for a directory-type of solution for my site and phpmydirectory was just what I needed. Installation was easy and the set up was a breeze. I love the administration - makes running it super easy.

I have been a pmd customer for about 2 years. Our company is very SEO driven, and we needed a tool so we could move our flat file apartment listing service to something database driven. We were nervous, so we set up a test site to test if pages generated by pmd were picked up by the search engines. It performed better than we expected, so pmd now powers 4walls.us. BTW, we are a 10 person company with some internal IT skills. We are happy with the product and email support.

I'm using the newest version of this script and lovin' it to death. It's adaptable in many ways. Easy to work with once you know what's where and there's a good community of fellow users trading tips and ideas on the message board. The support when needed has been great. Only drawback - I just wish there were more custom Mods for the script than what is available. And I wish there were more programmers out there who knew the script and could help out on a for-pay basis.

I managed to finish my directory within a matter of days thanks to phpMyDirectory, it was easy to use, there was a vast amount of colour selection and many different layouts to use, furthermore they gave me some helpful tips and techniques to use in my directory, and most importantly it was very cheap. I would reccomend php to anyone who wants to make a business directory.

After paying a lot of money for a bepoke site which was scrapped after 3 months of hassle and stress, I came across Bens PHP directory script. I found PhpMYDirectory online a few weeks ago after looking for years for this kind of software. I have to say this is the BEST on the market. I went from having nothing but an idea to haveing a lise site in a matter of weeks. All I can say is WOW.. The software is very easy to use and to make your own design. The mods out there are killer. This is a MUST have if you are looking to start a online directory.

Extremely responsive to ticket submissions day or night, even when low priority. With no knowledge of code or scripting, they have willingly assisted to make those changes with minimal or no charge for minor things. A good script with good support. Although there is no phone support, the email support is very prompt, often within hours. The support community forums are very active with current, up to date information. A search of the forums will more than likely reveal the answer to any questions you may have about the program. That is one of the reasons I purchased the program. I like the feeling that I have someplace to turn with my questions. Support is not an issue with this software.

I've tried several directory programs, and I do agree that this is one of the best. It has a lot of features, and is easy to use. I've been able to customize it a lot, and I like the fact that all the templates and CSS file are together in one directory.
I did have a problem with links to php page urls: the ampersand got messed up in the links. I sent in a support ticket, on a Sunday morning, on a holiday weekend, and they had it fixed by Monday morning. Very impressive support.

I have wasted my time with hundreds of programs but phpDirevtory is the best in the industry. I have used PHPDirectory on many of my sites and made money because my customers find it very easy to use and user friendly. The support team is at phpDirectory are excellent and have fixed any issue that I had to my satisfaction. I give this program and the staff 10 out of 10 thumbs up. Tony

Am 100% pleased with PMD's outstanding product that can be customized to suit. Prior to purchase, I had my inquiries answered. The forum advisors have generously shared their expertise and often explained things in layman's terms as I am not well versed in PHP. PMD's after purchase support is absolutely FANTASTIC. I've opened support tickets to revolve issues that I couldn't figure out (or did wrong) and got the matter resolved same day. PMD has an AWESOME product and TERRIFIC SUPPORT. Buy it!

We have owned our PMD for a couple of years now and our experience with their company has been a great one. You can install the script and have it running real fast. You will spend a few days customizing it to make it have the look and feel of your chice. Their support forums are really helpful and if you dont find help there you can always submit a support request to have them get your situation straight at no extra cost. Ben and his support staff even helped us make unique changes, thanks!

I am as green as a 2 year old colt when it comes to PHP, but I purchased this software and with enough knowledge to get me in trouble, their support has been AWESOME. They always have answered my support requests fast and professional. Over this Labor Day Weekend their support came to my rescue and fixed something I had really messed up ASAP. I was impressed.

PMD is superb value for money because not only is the script fantastic for what you pay but the great support from staff and loyal users in the forum has over delivered on my expectations.
2 days before buying PMD I bought another, cheaper script that was so inferior to PMD that I demanded my money back. Not with phpMyDirectory. You'll be hard pressed to find such a great deal. Seriously.

I initially bought an existing directory, which I use to list businesses in my Country, and after using and customizing it for 3 months, decided to buy another script from phpMyDirectory. It is one of the best scripts I have come accross ever. If they charged me 3 times the amount for it, I would pay for it with absolute pleasure. What makes it even better, is that, if you need any assistance with ANYTHING, the support is phenominal. I would recommend this company and their script to anyone.
