First, the script itself is EXTREMELY badly written. Code is full of errors, some features don't work at all, upgrading from the previous version doesn't work as instructed by authors. Even them have problems upgrading!
Support is terrible. Tickets and e-mails don't get answered, and if you press for support too hard you'll be ignored completely.
The script itself eats a lot server resources needlessly. HTML layout code isn't separated from PHP code (although script does use templates), code is full of parse errors.
If authors took more time to clean up their mess and less time to IXED protect this worthless pile of codejunk, maybe something would be out of it. This way, users have a lot of problems in the production.
Obviously, the authors follow the philosophy: 'Lure them in, take their money, and who cares afterwards'. If someone could post all the complaints these people receive, you would be surprised.
Bad value for the money, and bad business these irresponsible people undertake.

I was looking for a whole package to create an ecommerce website (develop it by my self would had be a really hard task) and i found PHPAUCTION and reviewing it I fell it would be the choice cause I would be able to modify it on my own way, my own style given its open source version!! I'm really satisfied of to have acquired phpauction. My website is running out such as i wanted i that first days. I'm just giving grateful for to have found what i was looking for.

i buyed the script including source code some weeks ago! it looks a litle bit unfinished. a lot of the functions are not working properly, the customer support is very bad! if you need some help you can only reach them by e-mail. you dont get more than one answer per day! so if you have serious problems with this script (and you will have some for sure) than it took very long time to get it working. hands away from this script! its to expensive! a lot of peoples have problems with it...

Our company bought the PHPAuction XL Script with Source Code and german languge files from a reseller onsite.org. We where very unsatisfied about their very bad and customer unfriendly support. the script is not really secure (example: it's possible to activate a account without giving a valid mailadress when authentification is enabled). Suport closed tickets without giving answers. there is no money refund possible. dont do the same mistake as our company!HANDS AWAY FROM THIS SCRIPT AND COMPANY

I got the XL Auction 3.0 Version and it is definitively the best auction software. The code is easy to undertand, to modify and customize for beginners and expert users. XL has a lot of new features, and as i said it is the best auction software

I had being using XL a couple years ago. The package is completely user friendly and explains everything in the same "site", it is intuitive and don't need to be a guru to use it.
The new versions are always improved by far and the best part included without extracost.
The 3.0 is amazing with lots new features. My favorite: flexibility of design with CSS and templates.
Support has always being good, sometimes not immediately but can't complain. A great quality -price relation.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. I would be amazed if anyone actually managed to get their website working with this software. It doesn't work. The people I have dealt with from their support don't even speak good enough English for me to understand them. If you see any good reviews about this software you can see that they are written by the people from Phpauction and not real reviewers as they make the same poor grammer mistakes as they did in the poorly written software and in their emails to me!

I am a peruvian freelance and I have worked in this software since one year ago. Sincerely I think that this product has many features and I have edited and added some functions without any problem, so it is a very customizable product. I recommend this software 100%.
