This works very well, you can add the counter to several pages with just one script and you can easily hide it from visitors.
However you should change the script used to add the counter from:
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="Javascript" SRC="http://www.domain.co m/counter/counter.php?pag e=PAGENAME"><!--
//--></SCRIPT>
to:
<script type="text/javascript" SRC="http://www.domain.co m/counter/counter.php?pag e=PAGENAME"><!--
//--></script>
if you want it to pass W3C validation.

This is a simple, easy script that worked the first time I tested it. No problems! Has good configuration options for unique hits. I'm very impressed.
