I've already bought the script and this script rocks. Not only rocks as a script but also because the excellent support you'll get. They helped me with an spanish translation (almost 95% edited on smarty templates.. other sections done by the dzoic team). The only con is that is totally encoded by using Zend and this will not give you the opportunity to customize it. (Although they are VERY willing to help you). Five peppers!

At a first glance the demo seems pretty good but there are still features lacking. However the worst part is that this solution seems to be zend encoded which restricts several custom features we need to add into the script itself thus making modification almost impossible.

So the only negative aspect of our script is gone with the new version. Handshakes Pro includes 99% of the source code now and you can customize anything!

I want to say thanks again to DZOIC Support team. One of reason why I bought Handshakes DZOIC App. is Their Super Support. Not this AlstraSoft E-Friend App. I do agree with some of what "mlaw" reveiws, about zend encoded which restricts several custom features and features lacking. DZOIC team have told me that there're more features coming and the new V1.2 has many features now . Over all DZOIC handshakes is worth buying.

I've paid $349 for the latest version 2.0. Nice software, good customer service but it's not worth a penny and don't buy it if you really want to make ANY modifications to it. Their website says you can make ANY modifications and their software license is misleading and is misrepresented. After you introduce your new design and spend time on making custom changes, they contact you and tell you to keep their original logo in it's original place and link it to their website on all of your pages.

DZOIC offers 2 types of license: standard and branding free. We do not allow standard license owners to remove our copyright notices. And that is not a logo, but a small "powered by DZOIC" notice at the bottom of script pages. This customer was owner of the standard license for only 2 days and did no design changes as he claims, except our copyrights removal. His order was refunded as soon as he refused to put our powered by notice back. The new version is still as flexible, as you think.

This social networking software product dazzles with diversity of features varying from blogs and articles to personal calendar and classifieds. Nevertheless while testing demo version of this product I’ve revealed that most modules were not working for some reason for a short time but later it worked properly except of “chat” that gave out a code error. Strange system message appeared while loading an “event” module, probably it was bug. Well, I’ll think twice before purchasing this software.

Absolutely not true. All modules are working 100% and there are no errors in our demo.
Once in an hour there's a 3-minutes restore programm running and during these 3 minutes the demo is down.

One drawback I see is the lack of add on components or modules - either 3rd party or homegrown. I was looking to use it as a shared photo gallery site - but only being able to upload 1 photo at a time wasn't going to cut it for me.

Rock-solid. Code easy to modify.
Support almost always responds within one day and even spent an hour with me answering questions.
But I wish there was documentation avaiable and perhaps comments in the code. I'm told that this information is coming in a couple weeks with the next release. Also looking forward to a user forum. Any other users of dzoic handshakes-- I've love to share experiences with you on integrating with email marketing tools and doing other customizations.

I just wanted to comment on my recent experience with Dzoic. I love Handshakes Pro...it is exactly what I was looking for. As far as support I cannot say anything negative.I am not a programmer and I had issues with my webhost..Dzoic was quite patient and very helpful. They never gave up on me. I would definately do business with them again.

I purchased the previous release and upgraded to the curent. when I changed to the new app I had to start all over from the beginning and had to ask all my users to recreate accounts and set every thing back up. The application is a great and sophisticated app and can do allot. But the support some times takes days to get a response from. There is absolutely no documentation to help you expand the site. You have to email all questions on how every little part works.

This script is absolutely horrid. They have virtually no documentation, so good luck if anything doesn't make sense to you. Support? What support? You'll be lucky if you get a reply within a week, and you'll definitely need it since this thing is so buggy. Stay away!

I tested this software on a dual XEON with 4GB RAM. Average page loads are way too slow for a production site with thousands of members. Before you buy this software, check out the client sites and see if the performance is acceptable. This script has the potential but its nto ready for production rollouts yet.
AND .. very very delayed customer responses.

I have seen many scripts and this one is by far the best one. I have modified many scripts and this one has the most organized code out there, making it very easy and modular to add/remove/change whatever you need. The new 100% css theme they just released just made it that much easier. Not only that, but their support is second to none. I would recommend this script to anyone who is serious about a solid networking script to grow your site with. I know I am.

I had taken the time to watch the user support forums, and find other sites using this product. Most of what I found was good.
I find the product has a little bit of a learning curve, but is not impossible to work.
Out of the box, the admin panel can do most of what you want, and get a decent running site.
The core package has over 3000 files before install. It needs some serious documentation.

I see sites with many register member but only one online. You cannot make any idea of script performance. Also, benchmarking, profiling, load test are undocumented (I think inexistent too). A free version with fewer features is needed. Do you have idea how many scripts pretend that they perform well to a P4 desktop. Phpizabi say it holds 200 thousands users (maybe if they register and never enter online). We don’t know if site is any good for handling traffic and you want tho charge us 350$?

I just bought this script and I have to tell you. It is super quick and I imported members from the vbulletin integration and now with over 12000 members i figured it would slow down BUT IT HASN'T! Thanks Dzoic. Your Support is fast and reliable. And Thanks for making it so easy for us to customize the script!

Not being a programmer, I needed a software platform for my "community" website that was easy to set up and use while having all the features I wanted. So, I took the time to do some "shopping around" before decided to purchase and use DZOIC Handshakes. Had I known just how well this product is supported by the incredibly talented people ad DZOIC, there would have been no hesitation on my part to make the Handshakes purchase right away...I have no doubt that I made the right choice.

I have not upgraded my script; however I will tell you that 3.2 is excellent. Like any script is has bugs, but DZOIC is notified and the problem is rectified. The staff is friendly (email), patient and knowledgeable.
My only concern is that support does take sometime to reply; however once replied the team attacks the problem. E.g. I had a data base problem and DZOIC support went into my data base and fixed the situation without hesitation.
With a 30 day money back, you can't go wrong!

Everytime there is a problem it takes days to get a response and then it's usually useless. The knowledge of most of the support staff is very little and don't seem to help much with issues. Have only gotten one problem fixed from them. The rest had to come from outside coders. I would think twice. Out of the box very difficult to customize because it deeply branded and you almost have to recode everything to brand it as your own. Some CMS's that were free/very complex are easier to customize.

I purchased Hand shake software and i am currently hosting my site at Yahoo web hosting.
Yahoo does NOT support CRON Jobs and ZEND.
Please suggesting me a hosting company who can smoothly host HAND SHAKE software.
