PHP Classifieds (the original) have existed for 10 years, and is probably the most customizeable high performance Classifieds system out there. No encryption of code, itīs open! It has a large user community. It s one is a highly customizeable professional ad system made to fit all kinds of Classified sites and languages. Features: Nice templates (upgrade friendly!), Video/Picture upload, 8 payment gateways, payment packages, picture gallery, wap (for mobile phones), user selectable language, credit system, ad moderation, search, email subscription, installer, backup, most-pop, latest ads, statistics, banner program, translated to 13 languages, payment processing support, vendor image, sql upgrader, favorites listing, special paid listings, slide show, custom number of ads, advanced search on custom fields (unlimited user/ads fields), different page for different categories, seller review, ad review, custom banners per category! Regions module incl! v7.5: Several bugs sorted out.

If you are looking for a really great script for classified ads, you have found it here. I have tried many different scripts (in PHP and Perl) and none have had all the features that I needed. This script has almost everything you would need to run a classified ads site. You may need to make some minor modifications to this script to make it fit your exact needs. I have been running this script since early March and this beta is by far the best the author has written. (As a side note, in order to use the photo upload feature, your webhost must allow anonymous uploads to the sql database using php. Many free or low cost servers do not support this. However, you may still use the script without photo uploading).
Can't wait for the final release 5.0!!!

This is an easy to use program for the user placing ads but for the webmaster if anything goes wrong that you cant work out - the lack of support from the company becomes very clear indeed. I would only recommend using this program if you know what you are doing with PHP and the script as for a beginner like me - you get NO help (via email or the support forum) and are left stranded

I just say: Test it! You can test it without purchase and there is no encoding or other limiting things you need to install. Latest v7 release is a major rewrite based on experience through 8-10 years of PHP Classifieds and is dramatically changed.

Well the good news is that this script works out of the box if you don't need to adjust anything, you are probably fine.
The bad news is that the company obviously invested absolutely no time in the actual design of the software, and by design I do not mean the layout.
The software lacks structure (for example code sepertated, directories and so on), a well thought of database table layout, commented code, a true template system and a lot more features you would expect when you buy software.
I had to integrate this script with the control panel of a client and we had to rewrite and add to the entire member area in the process because we just could not use any of it.
Which of course is nice from my point of few (Hey, it pays my rent! ;-)), but obviously is not what you expect when you buy software.
Luckily you get the source code when you buy it and not something Zend encoded. This is a script and nothing but a script. I don't recommend using php classifieds to anyone.

I have purchased half-a-dozen licenses. May buy a few more. What more can one say about recommending this script. Those complaining are just incapable of handling its power.

I am only going to say this once. Install the demo and try to customize before you BUY !!!!!
Script unbelievably buggy. No amount of tweaking will fix this. I had to rewrite the core code.
U have been warned..

The script seems very reliable but it lacks some self design on the front page. Its hard to alter the front and and when needed to add extra features such as flagging , support may not be there. I seen many people in the forum area that go without a resonse and I my self sent sevral tickets and recieved nothing.
Without support the script has a HUGE flaw.

This script has a terrible coding and shouldn't be used at a live site at all. Please do a code check and you will see what I mean.

I have just set up my first site with PHP Classifieds and I really like its power. The design looks really good already from start, it is easy to adapt to your own site and the code is easy to change, as it is not object oriented. The database is also normalized, something a database geek like me like :) I have tried other script also that wasn't bad, but those had Zend and I could do very little customize in the script. I recommend this software to everyone!
