Urchin is a high performance, fully automated website/webserver statistics analysis system that provides critical insight on a website's user activity. Superstat takes a server's access log, and generates statistics including top requests, most frequently visited directories, top clients, and even and hourly breakdown of activity.

AccountStats is a small perl script that scans Common format access_logs and summarizes the account activity for people who have logged in (name/password) to password (.htaccess/.htpasswd) protected areas on the system. It make no attempt to figure out the realm.

CookieStats is a small perl script that scans the cookies_log generated by Apache and produces a list of accessed pages and unique cookies. This has the effect of screening out duplicate accesses by single browsers and gives a relatively hard lower limit on the number of people accessing a page. Not all browsers support cookies, so some people are missed. This error is, however, under 10%.

RefStats is a small perl script that scans the refered_log or ECLF format access_log generated by NCSA httpd 1.4/1.5 or Apache and produces a list summarizing what referring URLs were reported by browsers, with a count of the number of times each referring URL was reported. The list is sorted by the local page accessed. It can also produce a list of broken links.

BrowserCounter is a small perl script that scans the agent_log generated by NCSA httpd 1.4/1.5 or Apache and produces a table summarizing what browsers people have used to access a web server.

FTPWebLog 1.0.2 is a powerful WWW and FTP log analysis program that includes support for graphic reports. For graphical reports, you will need the gd.pm perl library and the gd graphics library.

Microsoft has added a feature to their Internet Explorer 5 web browser that allows web sites to place icons for display with bookmarks. As a side-effect of this, hits are generated in the web server logs that can be analyzed to determine that a bookmark has been set and for what section of the site. This script performs a fast analysis of those bookmarks and generates a report of what is being bookmarked, and how often and what is the most popularly bookmarked areas of a web site.

Judas is a hidden logging script which displays an innocuous image, but secretly registers hits on a page and records information about the user.

StatsPlus is a statistics program that analyzes the traffic to your Web site. It provides you with your visitors information such as IP address, referer data, links to the referers, time and date, browser info and more.

CounterLog, AgentLog and RefLog are designed to let you create (if necessary) and analyze NCSA-format agent and referer logs, so you can easily keep track of what browsers and operating systems your visitors are using and what pages are directing them to yours. CounterLog also allows you to put text-based access counters on some or all of your pages.

An important factor in developing a successful site is knowing the path your visitors travelled through your site. What page did they start at and what page did they end up on. Those are 2 pieces of information that are key to developing your site. And was the path they followed the path you laid out for them. This script will provide these answers for you. This would be equivalent to a department store being able to know what door their customers entered and what areas their customers shopped in first, second, third, etc., and then the area they ended up in before departing.

WebLog is a comprehensive access log analysis tool. It allows you to keep track of activity on your site by month, week, day and hour, to monitor total hits, bytes transferred and page views, and to keep track of your most popular pages. It can also print out secondary reports to track "user sessions," showing the paths taken through your site by your visitors and giving you a rough idea of how long they spent looking at your pages, and to provide you with information on referring sites, the search engine keywords which brought your visitors and the agents and platforms they used while visiting.

This script goes through the referer_log file on your server and counts how many times your page is referred to by each URL. It then produces a table to be viewed from the web with a link to each URL that refers to you, how many times the link on that page has been followed to reach your page (since the referer_log was emptied) and the percentage of people coming from that particular page.
