Shopping cart script that doesn't look like another shopping cart script

One of the projects I'm working on, my client specifically requested me to build an online store with shopping cart, which he doesn't want it to look like "just another shopping cart", you know, the typical OS-Commerce look (3 columns, with products jam-packing the page etc).

With that in mind, I'm thinking of using a CMS to generate the product pages, so that I can design individual page freely, then I need a shopping cart script that lets me add a "Add to cart" button to the page, as well as able to generate the View Cart and Check Out pages.

Problem is, I have not found such shopping cart script. Hence I'm here to look for help. If you know of any shopping cart script that lets me do this, appreciate if you can share the information. Thanks in advance!

Hello,

There are so many shopping carts (both free and paid), we can show examples whole day. Also a person who knows what he's doing will make the OsCommerce looks like no other shopping cart, it's just a matter of design. As you may know OsCommerce is a template based system, so a good designer can do the job. A good alternative (in my opinion even better) is Joomla + virtue mart component.

Thanks,
G

Don't use a CMS for a cart. It's like using a hatchback for a pickup truck. You can do it, but it isn't really the right solution.

Buy as much design as you can as skins, then customize it until you're happy. Don't start from scratch, it isn't cost effective.

We can argue about this one, there are fits for any needs

Different people - different approaches. For not so skilled webmaster I think a prebuilt shopping cart is ideal solution.

Skill is only one part of the equation. Time is money. Security is vital. Polished design is important for sales.
