  • This program seems to have a comprehensive set of instructions (commented in code) but for whatever reason just WON'T WORK! Firstly, it requires that you basically hard code a username/password. That in itself is a problem. But after only a slight modification, I was able to get around that. The real problem lies in the pagination. By default it will list a few messages at a time which is cool. However, when you view the next page, the code fails-- apparently providing invalid WML. Otherwise, this would be a fantastic product. (I would personally contribute the login screen.)

  • Thank you for taking the time to review Momail. As of version 4 passwords and usernames donít need to be hard coded inside the script. Perhaps you missed this while reading the instructions or perhaps you downloaded a previous version of Momail. The feature is marked experimental, because it has some known issues when used together with recent XHTML browsers from Nokia. Also, as of version 4 we have improved the character encoding engine. As you may or may not know, wap browsers are very strict in the character encoding that they allow, while e-mail clients are less picky by far. We therefore need to convert every e-mail and subject line before displaying it. Obviously that engine is not perfect, and you came across a flaw that is still in it. To improve the engine we have to rely entirely on people like you, so perhaps you would like to help us out here. Try to find out what is causing the error, and let us know. Some wap browsers, Firfox with the WML plugin for example, will give you detailed information about invalid WML/XML/XHTML code. It is likely that the error came from some kind of special character. Thanks again for the review. Although I am a disappointed we received only 2 out 5 while you never asked us to help you in any way, I appreciate it you took some time to write this review. Kind regards, Maarten Laurs
