The Wyzz WYSIWYG Editor
Wyzz is a minimalist WYSIWYG Editor for replacing HTML textarea fields. Wyzz is a small JavaScript file implemented with just 2 lines of code, yet provides Bold - Italic - Underline - Strikeout - Justify Left/Center/Right - Indent/Outdent - Enlarge Font - Reduce Font - Headings - Source View - Color Pickers for text/background - Font Picker - Editable Character Map - Insert Links - Images, and more. Wyzz is for use where other WYSIWYG editors are too big and cumbersome. It is easy to configure to have only the functions you need, so you can limit what your users can do (useful when you don't want them to mess up your page designs with their content!). IE, Opera, Safari, Chrome and Firefox compatible. Online demo and author-moderated forum for support and feature suggestion. FREE (LGPL). Site now includes special downloadable version 0.65ZC for integration into Zen Cart to replace no-longer-developed htmlarea editor.

Fine, if ugly, on most other browsers. Can only be tailored by editing the source. Does not display anything - not even a textarea - in Internet Explorer 9. Only usable if your user won't be using this popular browser.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This WYSIWYG editor is just like many others, and there's nothing special about it. In fact, It doesn't work as well and the toolbar isn't as intuitive as others. It has an image insert button that is nothing more than a image link. It does not upload an image, it simply links to an image. These should be illegal because they make it easy to "hotlink" images (steal bandwidth) from other websites. These WYSIWYG editors if they're going to have an image button, it should be one that will upload an image from the client's computer onto the server that the editor is on and link only to that image on that server. Yes, it would require a little more work on the part of the author, but wouldn't that be better than helping others steal bandwidth?

What a great script! I've been developing web applications for some time now, but this is the first time I've needed a WYSIWUG editor so customers can add their own content to a website and what a find WYZZ was. Mosttimes I've incorporated someone elses scripts into my projects, I've had a headache getting everything to work seamlessly, but not this. 3 mins and it was all working, with my database, style sheets styled to my applications theme and everything. Fantastic 5 stars!
