I tried byteCommerce for a week or so. Two times a test-customer (who was a family member) tried to make a download on my website. They were able to pay at PayPal. However with the downloading section the problems started. The test-customar waited, and waited, and waited a bit more, but no download started. After being not able to download for 24 hours the download possibility expired (I had set this option). The test-customer wrote a message to byteCommerse. And then he waited again, and waited, and waited. But no reply. I also wrote a message to byteCommerce. And I also waited, and waited, and waited, without getting a reply. After a Google search I found out that the owner tried to sell this site three years back at Flippa. As reason he specified: "Because we're working on other projects, and byteCommerce right now is the most distant to our current focus on web 2.0 and social networks." Right. So byteCommerce is not in their focus. That explains why they deliver no service and ignore messages. The site is like a corpse without soul. It occupies (digital) space with it's (digital) body, but there's no soul inside to animate the body. It just lies there. Rotting away. Could somebody please cremate it? So my advice is to say byebye to byteCommerce. Which, I must ad, I find a real pity becaue I liked the thing they promised a lot.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
