Dear Hot Scripts Members
When I was a kid, I used to think that art was something
solely related to paintings and other graphics work. But art can
be applied to any field, including web design and scripting.
Wikipedia's definition of art
is "the process or product of
deliberately arranging elements in a way that appeals to the
senses or emotions." This same deliberate arrangement of
elements can also enhance web scripts. If you take a look at
most scripts, you'll see that they share the same skeleton — a
CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) framework for their back end
and front end. All that changes with each new script is the way
data is formatted and rendered on the front end in addition to
the unique features of each script. If you combine different
elements of scripts, you can come up with innovative new scripts
— that's actually how new mutations of web scripts are born.
Take Digg.com. Its framework is based on a link management
system with a unique algorithm for voting.
Flickr, on the other
hand, is simply an advanced photo gallery script with its unique
feature being that the site offers remote hosting for images.
There is so much you can do with a simple script by mutating it
and using it in an artistic manner. To customize each script,
you need to understand it, investigate its plugins, and apply
the plugins in a way that's different from their original
purpose. To make the script more successful and unique, apply it
to a particular niche.
So, the next time you see a script on
Hot Scripts, let your creative juices
flow, and you might save money, develop a new product, and
create marvels.
