LabStoRe is a modular, optionally account-based, inventory or LIMS system that provides a way to collect, maintain, present and archive information on laboratory stocks and records. A PHP5 class to simplify backing up databases remotely.

Pagination just means numbering pages. In the project that I was working on, I was retrieving large amounts of data from a MySQL database and realized that I would have to break the data up into pages for two main reasons, 1) there was so much data that it could hang the browser when it was loading and 2) from a user perspective (we still care about that right?) it was unruly to say the least. If I was returning 50,000 rows from a database query, I knew that I would need to slice that up into more manageable chunks. Now in the past, I had written basic pagination functions to handle this type of issue and sometimes copied and pasted functions from older scripts to cut down on development time, fixing and re-coding where necessary. But I realized that for this new project I could try to write a pagination class that I would be able to just plug into any script and have it do the pagination for me.

I find this little script very useful for web applications that need to automatically generate tables. I wrote it because I felt it was wrong to have a script execute create table SQL statements for tables that already existed.

RedBean is a so-called -on the fly- ORM layer meaning it does not require configuration files or a pre-existing database schema to operate. Instead the library designs its own database structure based upon your interactions with so-called bean objects. Using reflection technologies that are part of the php language RedBean infers the required schema from these interaction for your code. It will create the tables and columns your code needs on the fly.
