Page refresh

Dear All, I am very new to HTML, PHP & MYSQL my issue is: I have created a page to retrieve data from MYsql database & display this in the form that is okay now the issue is I also have some buttons on the page; as soon as i click any button the form got refreshed, is there any solution for that please tell me.
