This web part is compatible with the other versions of Sharepoint 2010 but it has been designed to work (multilanguage) without variations: Instead, we use custom list of languages with standard ISO (language culture name) and also with all the advantages that variations offers. We also can create different elements with each language. We’ve noticed that Sharepoint out of the box menus (quicklaunch and main menu) has too many items and sometimes we want to make it easier. This means choosing the elements we want to display and make a hierarchy based on levels, hide some unuseful areas or items for advanced users. This menu allows us to choose manually which elements would be displayed using relative links in different languages and decide the name of the menu item.
