I've been using PluggedOut for the last few months, and I love it. Super easy to install, super-easy to use. One minor note - there was no link to the site from the admin interface, so I added my own, hope Jonathan does not mind - perhaps, consider it for the future release, if not done yet. It would be great if the author can have integration into the website as an add-on rather then being purely a blog. Overall - fantastic job! I did not experience any bugs or difficulties. I recommend it.

I have been using this blogging system for years now. As just the "normal" user I have found it to be functional as well as versatile. I would highly recommend it to anyone, including new script users. Jon has great support on the forum as well :)

I'm not a web expert but I'm pretty aufait with most end-user stuff. When looking for a blog script that I could control I was looking for ease of installation and simplicity of use. I was also looking for a database driven script to ensure fast and secure data storage that could be easily backed up. I found all the above in PluggedOut! Installed and ready to go in under 15 mins. Total client side control. Fantastic! It's not basic nor full on; it's just perfect :o)

I work as a professional web developer, and have tried out most of the well known blog scripts (including WordPress). The PluggedOut Blog script is by far the best of the lot. It doesn't try and do too much - but all the usual things you require are there; categories, RSS, multiple users, themes and templates. The administration page is great - everything is easy to get at and obvious, and the programming itself is very easy to read and modify too. There's no question this is a 5 star script.

I really like this script. I'm a complete newbie and a bit of an idiot and I was able to get this up and running in no time at all. He throws in a database script which I copied and pasted into mysql and executed. Took about 2 seconds. I was about to make the obvious change to the database config file and it was up and running. The templates are a bit of a pain for a newbie to change but I perfer it that way as I was able to work on my css and html skills. I give it a 5 for me or for anyone else who wants to learn as well as put up a blog.

This is my first reveiw so please bear with me. The Plugged Out Blog is a great script and program written by Jon Beckett. It is a MySql database with a Php script. I am a novice at this whole web development thing. I was able to upload this program with a slight amount of effort mainly based on usage restrictions by my Web Host when using their MySql / PhpMyAdmin hosting database. Once I uploaded the MySql database and then put the Php philes in my root directory -- the blog came up perfect the first time -- No Hitch and No Glitch. The Plugged Out Blog is well styled and very easy to maneuver around in -- the information it provides and the format is one that lends itself easily to a well run professional blog hosting site -- the BIG DIFFERENCE -- is that you the user are in control of all content on your blog pages instead of someone else. The user admin site is easily navigated and understood. It is definately a good start even for the novice user -- and it is an incredibly powerful tool for an experienced programmer who wants a good foundation to tinker with. Another great aspect to the Plugged Out Blog is the Plugged Out Forum where users can post questions, problems, code examples, etc ... and other users or Jon himself step in and help them with there problems. I have never posted a question that I did not have a good, solid answer response within 24 hours or less in the forums. Don't get me wrong there are some negatives -- but they can easily be overcome. The blog does come with a read me file -- but Jon has spent a lot more time on the program than he has on the instruction manual. You must have some basic understanding of Php and the workings of your webhost in order to translate the Plugged Out instructions for upload. If you don't know what "chmod" is then don't use this script. Also, everything with-in the admin interface is listed as a part ie...user_metatags, blog_page,calendar_header, etc... When you click on template it redirects you to a screen that simply list the code for that item. It's not "Rocket Science" wherever you see the word Plugged Out.com -- you simply highlight it and change it to "yourwebsite.com" It is simple things like this that can be confusing to an extreme novice. Believe me I was when I started this project. Basically though you will find it to be intuitive. Don't be scared to play - around with the code in the templates -- just simply keep a file of the original on your hard drive and if you screw it up too bad -- just reload, overwrite and start all over ;-) Good luck and write till your heart's content,
