May 2013: At last the long awaited major upgrade to VizBook. VizBook (Phoenix) 2.23 is a versatile FREE-to-use-as-is guestbook style cgi script written in Perl; although people find other uses. Primarily from inception in 1998 VizBook is designed for inexperienced or time challenged webmasters, yet the more experienced have access to plenty of html. All managed from comprehensive enhanced administration pages v2.23 includes several discreet anti-spam measures plus optional "image captcha". Readily change backgrounds, colours, name, font, table colours and width, switch the input boxes on and off, receive but not display input, include up to three Banner Ad displays, and set up an extra input box or drop down list for your own purpose - plus more. Also via the admin page, VizBook can accept and easily install small (moderated) Photos of visitors that submit to the list. Efficient Perl parsed site friendly flat-files used, no MySQL required by resource challenged website accounts.

  • if you are looking for a guestbook that goes easy on your cgi-bin and bandwidth, vizbook makes an excellent choice as it does not tax your server too heavily. also, it has features that are surprisingly advanced for a free and light guestbook. this guestbook also has an excellent support guide that can help you get this script up and running in a couple of minutes.

  • Awesome guestbook. Now version 2.2. Professional guestbook. Professional admin screens. Freeware setup. Can be a bit of a pig to install if your setup is non-standard and you are doing non-standard things (full instructions included) ... but you learn a lot in the process :-)
