If you want to start your own classified website i will recommend you Esvon Classifieds. After several weeks of research and many readings we decide to buy this script. Compared to all other available scripts it is not the cheapest one but you get what you pay for. If any issue, support (very important) is fast and you are guaranteed that the error is fixed. Template customization is easy done without any PHP knowledge. Source code is also available if you want to do PHP customization yourself.

After spending 20+ hrs searching and reviewing classified applications, this one is definitely the best one I've found.
I am almost ready to launch our site and the building process has been mostly smooth. What bumps I've run into have been smoothed out by Esvon's responsive tech support (thanks Vlad).
I have paid for several customizations and they were completed on schedule and made to work to my specifications.
Simple and cohesive. 5 stars would mean perfection IMO. 4 means REALLY GOOD.

I was searching for a classifieds solution for ages and found Esvon Classifieds. The software is excellent & can be used for many professional online website projects & not only classifieds; i.e. Real Estate, Motors, Jobs. It also supports taking online payments. Support from Esvon is excellent and additional modules can also be purchased. Esvon also provide customisation if you want to do something different! Overall, i'd give the product 9.5 out of 10!

Very steep learning curve. No User Manual. Spent more money than expected for support & customizing. But...Great results! Esvon is very flexible, allowing us to create a very high-end site that looks fantastic and so far functions great. Cust svce is good, you just need to be patient and very clear with what you want. Esvon is clearly one of the best out there for professional classifieds sites. Would have given 5 stars if not for the sorely lacking user manuals. The text docs are too spartan.

Company, based in Ukraine, Russia, beleives earning money from customers on ongoing & exorbitant basis, the is best way to survive - without even - offering sensible scripts, place to customise & make a business. After purchase they want more money exploiting restrictions. Too much Encription so you must pay or cant use. No forums, openness or transparency. For every half a year one pays a fortune, updates r not regular. DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT

I recently launched a real estate site and Esvon was a perfect match for all our needs. I have never seen a more stable product or a script with so many added features as this one has. The speed of this product is the best I have seen. I would recommend this product for anyone that wants to set up a serious classifieds based website. I am so satisfied with this system that I am in the process of buying two more licenses for two other sites that we are setting up.

I can't say enough good things about Esvon and their classified ad software. I've been working with them for almost three years and I'm on my third site. Their technical support and response times are fantastic and I've used them for all of the core/Db mods and enhancements that I've made.
I couldn't image writing this code from scratch or using some other vendors package.
BTW the first Esvon site I launched recently sold for a mid 6 figure (US$) amount.

Please do not purchase this software. I spent over $5000 purchasing and 'customizing' it and it still would not interface with the Verisign Gateway. I wasted months of my life because of this, and lost a good client.
If Vladamir (company owner/software developer) responds to your support requests he is SLOW SLOW SLOW and alwasy asks you to 'wire' him more money. I wish I never would have heard of this wretched awful company.

When you customer leaves you for some reason, it is always easier to blame somebody else than be responsible for every situation in your life.
Our response time is up to 24 hours usually except weekends and we always solve the problems when customers really ask for help and provide all the necessary technical information.
And when you mention digits, it would be great to prove as well on which things they were spent.

I have been using esvon for 2 months, so far so good. The script is flexible, you can set up different fields as many as you want for each of your main categories (although I wish this can be applied to subcategories too). I personally dont know how well the script is but I feel the speed of Esvon pretty fast. I've seen Esvon live site running with thousands of ads smoothly.
Support is fine. Although you need to pay for customizations, Vlad seems reasonalbe because he solved an issue for me free of charge after the free support expires. Obviously, the drawback is official technical support is only free for 1 month. I would rate it 5 star if its free support extend to 1 year.
Overall, I would recommend this script to anyone want to setup a professional classified site with some budget.
NO SUPPORT

This is an unfortunate circumstance ... a very good stab at programming rendered useless by NO SUPPORT. After spending over $1000 for this script, I encountered problems that should have been easy enough to resolve. SQL errors with the search routines plagued certain aspects off the script. Those I could easily find and fix (typos on variables names etc) I did. Some errors though really would require me to de-engineer the application to find and correct ... this hardly seemed like something a script purchaser should be required to do! In an attempt to get help with the issues, I: 1. emailed support, 3 times --- NO RESPONSE 2. I use their web sites support system, it's been about two weeks and still no response from either my e-mails or support ticket. SO, as I see this product now, it is 'abandonware' --- once you purchase it, you are abandoned. Under the circumstances, unless you are a SQL/PHP programmer or don't mind paying one to debug this software, look elsewhere for your social networking solutions.

Esvon Classifieds is a powerful program with loads of useful features as default with more available as add-on modules. And if it’s not there customisation is available at reasonable costs. It uses a single MySql database and has been optimised for speed and efficiency. Full demo versions are available to download – you can use them to configure your site before buying a licence and going live – good for budget planning! Some knowledge of PHP, MySql and HTML is preferable if you want to make maximum use of the software.

The scripts are encrypted. Most of the website I visited (of their clients) did not or could not customize the scripts because of the encrypted version.
When you begin to work with the script, you see that some of the most important variables are not printed on the pages, although they are used on pages and queries. A classic example is to be able to print "Parent category name" like in the templates with ##parentname## variable.
For this the company, based in Ukriane, requires an extra money. They asked $60 for modification of category pop-up that does not produce a kilometer long pop-up if you have many categories. To be able to print the name of website on photos, they ask $70, which most of the scripts for dating do includes with the price.
On one side the price is very high and on the other side the demand and pressure for money by the company side is also high making most of the clients practically difficult to modify the script and make a satifcatory presentation.
Buy the script only of you have a lot of money i.e. spare money. The people ranking 4-5 stars do not seem to be speaking the truth as the ones with one star confirms my personal experience.

The software is offered on "AS IT IS" basis, so additional modifications you request are subject to custom programming quotes. Yes, early versions of each software product have certain disadvantages, but after several years of polishing it reaches really good level.

ESVON has no phone number on their website to contact them for support of any kind, especially technical assistance. Additionally, they DO NOT answer e-mails requesting help, phone numbers, or otherwide. Their website is automated, so sales do not require live people to collect money or dispense product. The 5-Star Reviews of this product are false. Believe the 1-Star reviews, or lose your money. Don't get screwed...watch out for this one.

Their really is no support. The guy does not speak english so if you write a long letter expect no response. He will charge you every step of the way. I have spent over $8000.00 I am now forced to switch. Your users will be upset. His upgrades do not install properly. Just another way to clip you for more money. REALLY!!! if your considering a proper business look else where. You have been warned.

A lot of programming work was done in this case and many aspects of the software was customized and changed, it was ongoing development which lasted month by month. The boiling point was inability of this customer to upgrade to the new version for free keeping all the custom programming he had implemented. The upgrade process for software of this level is not always smooth. if you have modified your version, you have to re-implement all the changes from scratch to take advantage of the update.

I Have found Esvon classifieds an excellent program to work with. It is fairly easy to install if you follow instructions, they even provide you with an auto chmod codes that you can upload in one easy install and a full PHP.My SQL, guide and set up program as part of their package.I am a novice with databases as all the previous work I have done was through a wysiwyg and MX Macromedia. I am struggling a little with adapting to the new system, however the support, guidance and assistance from ESVON has been second to none. They are great guys who are willing to help. Pricing is also very favourable as when you look at the similar programs, most of them start from at least US$1000 plus more for the standard edition before you ad any custom work or any extra features.
For an advanced program with these capabilities you can not go past Esvon

Worst tech support ever! If they bother to get back with you, then it usually takes at least one whole day and never any day of the weekend, including Friday. And when they do, the answers are short and unhelpful. For the smallest amount of customization that requires maybe a few additional lines of code, they try and clip you for $30 -$50 bucks every time. Source code version is available, but for an extra $600. Think twice about getting this script.

Our technical support policy is available at the website, we don't hide it. But we always try to promise less and to do more whenever this is possible.
If you have several customizations in mind, it is always cheaper for you and us to make them all at once, than having to handle one small addition at a time.

Very poor slow support, no documentation, no notifcation of upgrades, mods don't work with upgrades, all code zend encoded so you can't work the bugs out of the script. Think hard about this one before parting with your money and investing your time!

The software was easy to install but it does take a bit of time and effort to become familiar with all its features.
The support from Esvon is fantastic! They are very responsive and problems are resolved immediately. Custom programming is also carried out promptly.
I would not hesitate to recommend Esvon Classifieds and I will be using it again on a future project.
