The idea for gPHPEdit started out of frustration that there is no single PHP editor that does everything I want (I work as a PHP developer). I've tried NEdit, PHPMole, gEdit, Anjuta, SciTE (plus of course the obvious Emacs and vi!) and none of them do everything I want... so I decided to write one myself."
