Use this application to manage files and directories on your webserver or any FTP server. You can create, rename, delete and move directories, upload, download, edit, rename, delete, move and copy files, and change file and directory permissions. The script has the ability to upload files, make new directories, rename files and folders and delete itmes. For file uploads, a maximum allowed file size limit will be displayed, imported from server settings. It's also equipped with an up-button and a root-button, which navigates eighter up one directory, or up to the root-level, next to an Upload file and a New folder-button. Listing the files and folders, the scripts prints the associated MIME-icon, server timestamp and file size. Folder size is the total size of all files contained in the current folder and/or sub-folders. The script is a stand-alone PHP-file, and does not require a database connection, nor any third-party PHP extension. All it needs to work is the one and only PHP-file. There is, however, a folder supplied with the script. This folder contains CSS-markup and graphic icons for the browser user interface. I needed something that worked fine, almost like the class CFile of MFC in Visual C++. I coded this class which basically does the same, even if not with the same efficiency, due to PHP limitations anyway. Developers can read and write data in both text and binary mode, so that they can read/save strings, numerical variables (integer, double, float) and arrays. They can also move the file pointer back and forth for any need. The attached examples cover simple file management, reading of file header structures (jpeg and bmp, here), reading/writing arrays. Originally it was written just to list files and let you download them. Now a very complete, well-featured piece of software that allows logins, group permissions, file permissions (both system-level and software-level). Admins have complete control over what each user (or group of users) have access to. File editing is supported, so it could be used to manage a website if needed. A great deal of information is available about the files and and directories. The properties window can give resolution information about photos, artist/album information about audio files, detailed information about videos, and much, much more. Installation is quite easy. There may be some CHMODing that needs to be done, but other than that, the setup script takes care of all the heavy lifting including setting up settings files and generating the needed MySQL tables....
