Staggered import of large and huge MySQL Dumps (like phpMyAdmin dumps and even GZip compressed dumps). Do you want to restore the huge backup of your mySQL database (or a part of it) into the new or the same mySQL database? You can't access the server shell and you can't import the dump using phpMyAdmin due to hard memory/runtime limit of the web server. BigDump will do it even through the web servers with hard runtime limit and those in safe mode in a couple of short sessions.

  • I've used this script to upload a 1.6GB sql script into my database. It was super fast and did exactly what it needed to do. The default settings are secure but i needed to adjust some to allow for my file to import.

  • Used it to import phpBB backup prior to rebuilding the board. Don't know much about sql but that wasn't a problem. Takes a while, and kept getting errors with special characters even though I used utf8, so had to restart from part way many times. An option to check for errors first would be good.

  • A Very good tool for anyone who have to upload a large sql file to a new database.

  • It was getting very hard to import very big dumps. Navicat Premium was also not able to complete it but BigDump did it very well.

  • phpmyadmin failed after claiming that it had loaded 500 million lines, despite there only being 2 million. This script just chucked through it and imported correctly
