Text File Database
With the "Txt-Db-API" you can access normal text files like a SQL database. You need no special Database Software on the Webserver, but can still use SQL. You can use the API to create, query, change, delete Tables, and you don't have to bother with the Text-Files themself, (almost) everthing can be done with API calls. The Txt-Db-API is object oriented and very simple to use.Visit publisher site: Text File Database

I started using TXT DB two weeks ago, but was cautious not to invest a lot of time in something I was sure was going to blow up in my face. Two weeks in, however, I still have my face, and am finding that this is really solid code, and fast too.
Actually this one is now my No.1 choice for small to medium text databases even on hosts with MySQL support -- itīs very fool proof and can perform most of the typical MySQL-tasks in a similar manner (because of its similar query syntax, which in this case reminds me of ADODBīs wrapper syntax a bit -- good for dummies like me:-) and has a good performance. And, with all the excellent support at their public forum itīs easy to get it up and running -- not to forget, itīs supplemented with a fantastic "admin" script for managing text databases, entries etc etc. Now my primary choice, when Iīm too lazy or donīt see any reason configuring a MySQL for databases which actually wouldnīt require such "overkill".
