The learning curve is much smaller than most scripts, and the tech support is excellent. Everything is customizable and it is very robust. I have used this software for 3 new directory and classifieds sites. I have absolutely no programming skills but these are very easy to use. The user manual is detailed and extremely helpful and if you cant manage to find what you are after just email them and the support is fantastic. I usually try to find what i am after first, but Ben and Anneliese have been GEMS in helping, often just fixing the problem straight away or letting me know where to find what i am after. So far so good, well done guys.

If you're after a directory script, then phpMyDirectory is the script for you. Even with little or no programming knowledge, its easy so easy to customise that you can personalise it in no time, and learn a lot in the process. When I was researching what directory script to use, the only software that came close cost 10-20 times as much, and didn't have anywhere near the community that PMD has. The tech support, both from the PMD team and the forums, is second to none, and have helped so much that I feel bad paying so little for the initial directory. The sort of people that rate this script any less than 5, must be the same people that wonder why their computers dont start when they put coins in the DVD slot.

This product is for developers that can find their way around code and don't need good documentation. The releases are buggy and re releases take place often. Some of the errors were so basic, such as no drop down category lists, or lack of counts, that we had to drop this code in favor of another vendor that provided better support at higher cost of course. So if you are willing to live with bugs, and poor support, and can figure out the code yourself, go ahead.

I've tried several directory programs, and I do agree that this is one of the best. It has a lot of features, and is easy to use. I've been able to customize it a lot, and I like the fact that all the templates and CSS file are together in one directory. I did have a problem with links to php page urls: the ampersand got messed up in the links. I sent in a support ticket, on a Sunday morning, on a holiday weekend, and they had it fixed by Monday morning. Very impressive support.

A good script with good support. Although there is no phone support, the email support is very prompt, often within hours. The support community forums are very active with current, up to date information. A search of the forums will more than likely reveal the answer to any questions you may have about the program. That is one of the reasons I purchased the program. I like the feeling that I have someplace to turn with my questions. Support is not an issue with this software.

Easy to work with once you know what's where and there's a good community of fellow users trading tips and ideas on the message board. The support when needed has been great. I've bought and used this for several months now and I am severely disappointed. Not only with the inflexibility of adjusting the script and other aspects for customization but also with their support, which is severely lacking and lax. I've had to wait up until two days or more for even a reply when the site was down, for example, after trying to install an upgrade, and then all I got was a rude reply. NOT RECOMMENDED. Spend your money on something else.

I have purchased the script a short time ago. The support is very bad, i'm waiting a 10 days for an answer for a bug fix. Also, THE SYSTEM NOT WORK IF PMD SITE GO DOWN. In the support forum there are many posts relating this problem, because the script need to validate a license each time you log in on admin panel, if the PMD site is down you are cannot login. It is happened with me too and i'm very stressed because PMD occult this detail before you buy the script. I not recomend.

I have been using this product for a month and am pleased with the purchase. It took me less than a week to completely reskin it to match the rest of my site...They encrypt some of the functions with ioncube, hasn't been a problem. They use AdoDB-lite for db functions (fast and simple). The forum/email support is super quick. Geo-locations is wierd, seems to be main hurdle for most. Feature rich, easy to customize. I wish it cached listings. Great Bargain, contends w/ apps 4 times it's cost.

PHPMyDirectory.com has an incredible support Forum, with thousands of users who post comments, issues, and free modifications for use. The degree of customization that you can apply to PMD is amazing. Support is constantly updating the script. The new version coming out soon (10.5) will have many new features that were requested by users. Third party developers have also developed modifications. An easy to use language file can change the entire niche in less than 5 minutes.

at the first view the software beats other packages, but the support, especially the bug fixing period is very very poor. Therefore you need some knowledge of php to fix the bugs. And the encription is anoying. I took a day to get the software running because of ioncube. And the problem for any encrypted version is really what happens, if....?

The product is encrypted, they do not tell you that up front. Also, if their server goes down, so does your admin panel -- because their server has to validate your license. They claim it is to avoid piracy. They do not have a telephone number or address to contact them at. Forum members are very helpful, and most of the time so are their developers. They are very quick at deleting postings on their forum if the contents are negative (true or not). If they run out of business, so will you!

This is a good script..worth the money I think, however, customizing it hasn't been easy. My programmer has found the code very difficult worth. On the other hand customer service is excellent and a limited amount of customizations is included in the price.

I was very interested in the script, but having received no reply to two emails, I too am sceptical. I am reluctant to make an online payment in return for the script and free installation when they can't even respond to an email. Shame, the script looked really good.
