All webmasters will tell you that if your site does not have meta tags then you will never receive any unique traffic. When I first heard that I laughed thinking it was a joke but now I know better. Web sites are indexed and listed in search engines based on the information that search engine robots find in the meta tags. With out valid meta tags your web site has a very small chance of being noticed by search engines and an even smaller chance of appearing in search engine results.
