  • Hesk has always provided a Free and frequently Updated Help Desk for my Websites. It's a Great Script and you cannot beat the options and settings. I use it exclusively!

  • I've been using Hesk as my helpdesk for years. I can refer to old tickets from the same person, work through complicated issues, stay in touch. It's easy to use but really powerful. And it makes it simple for me to know when my folks have problems so I can fix them. I get emails, the emails contain links. I never miss anything.

  • I installed HESK on a Droplet. It is very very responsive even on 512 MB / 1 CPU 20 GB SSD 1000 GB Transfer [ $5.00/mo.] You would swear it was hosted locally with the speed. HESK version: 2.6.8 PHP version: 5.5.9-1ubuntu4.19 (MySQLi) MySQL version: 5.5.50-0ubuntu0.14.04.1 HESK is great and just what is needed. Email piping works flawlessly. Install on DigitalOcean took me 1 hr with this being my 1st go round with Droplets. I had a developer make CSS & HTML adjustments to remove gradients and square up all corners ( A personal preference ) It took him only 2 hours

  • I've been using Hesk help desk for many years now. For me, it does exactly what I need. I've tried other scripts that are "fancier" just to see what they were all about... but at the end of the day, I come back to Hesk because it's very easy to use and maintain.

  • What can a fella ask of a script other than it do to what it's suppose to do? The Hesk Install script did just that and we already tested with the software for a couple of days, so it's all good. We upgraded to the unbranded version. Now all I need to do is tweak the css, add a header & footer and it will look like the rest of the site!.

  • I use the script for my hosting company, have staff assigned for tickets, really cant say enough.. I paid the price for 1 site license to remove the "powered by" that upgrade went smoothly, and I'm very proud of the simple support knowledgebase and ticket system.. In some details it is better than other, very costly, competitors. look into it... hesk is solid as a rock.. yet lightweight on your cpus.

  • I searched a long time, far and wide, to find a wp plugin to run a help desk. Ridiculous. Poor support, poor documentation, and broken plugins is all I found, OR they were way too expensive. I purchased a broken plugin for a support desk, and found on the guy's website that HE was using this script. So, within 1 day the author configured it on my service provider's server and finally I had all I needed, plus the knowledge base. I am grateful for this and the great customer service, and I wish the author would charge for it. IMO it's too good to be free.

  • I would like an option to include detail about ticket in emails sent out, I know, I thought about it and what a pain, but in my position, it would be a great help

  • HESK emails can indeed be modified to include ticket details (subject, title, name, email, owner, category, priority, custom fields, ...). You will find instructions as well as many other tips in the HESK knowledgebase:

  • Thanks for the feedback. Note that HESK *intentionally* doesn't have some of the functionality you would expect from a full-blow commercial (read $xxx+) solutions. The more functionality you add the more complex a solution becomes and HESK tries to keep a balance between being fast/simple and useful for many users.

  • I looked for EASY to USE help desk. I try about 30 other than found this one. Simple as it can be, but robust and really nice. Free even for normal use. Excellent work guys, I am pleased to buy a licence for this.

  • I only needed a basic helpdesk ticket system. But I came across this and does exactly what I wanted and soooo much more!

  • I've been using Hesk now for a good while and can certainly recommend it. It's simple from an administrator and end user point of view. Email integration is excellent allowing your clients to submit tickets as easily as possible (sometimes, too easy).

  • If you take into account the price, this script stands out for its flexibility and ease of installation in 5 minutes it is already configured and in use by the department.

Price is indeed a major factor (HESK is completely free to use with unrestricted functionality), but also note that HESK was developed with "simple, fast and light-weight" in mind. It will never have all the functions of the $xxx+ software as it wasn't designed to compete with them, but provide a simple and free alternative.

  • To make this work HESK would have to support customer accounts (currently it doesn't because it was written specifically for the purpose not to require accounts), otherwise it would be possible to find tickets submitted by other customers (a serious security and privacy issue). Note that you can still get a list of support ticket sent to your email (click the "Forgot tracking ID" on the "View existing ticket" page. By default HESK will only send open tickets, but that can be changed in settings (Admin panel > Settings > Email tab > Open only: List only open tickets in "Forgot tracking ID" email)

  • I use this for the support section of my free web host, and it is very easy to use and the built in knowledgebase was an extra that I had been planning on making. Now, instead of having to find a separate knowledgebase, I saved time and effort by using the built in one. The user section is great, due to the fact that I can add support team members without giving them full access to the script. The only thing I wish it had, was a live support chat feature.

  • This is one exception to the phrase - you get nothing for free. I have been using this for over 3 years. It has everything you need for a small to medium size organization help desk, supporting multiple admins. I was great before and with the email integration, its excellent. It is easy to install and work very well.

  • I help people repair slot machines through my website and this script is the answer. NO MORE EMAILS!! The program does everything for you, including sending the customer emails with links to the ticket, and allowing custom forms to be added to the ticket (with form validation) a big plus! All I have to say is..GET IT and buy the license! ITS WORTH THE $$!! The support is good too with a searchable user forum with MANY answers to common issues.

  • Read the read me, chmod'd all the correct files and folders, ran the install url and click the i agree terms button it then checks your server for compatibility, click next and it goes back to the agree terms page. Round and round we go a few times and back off to my Flash fxp to delete it from my server. Sorry i never got to see it in action...

  • Sorry to hear you didn't manage to install it, but the problem is on your server - most likely PHP sessions not working correctly. If you read instructions carefully you would see exact description of your problem in the Readme file under "HELP and Troubleshooting" and there is even a support forum where you can get free help.

  • This site or set of scripts is excellent. I use it for my company's internal help tickets. We didn't have money for this, so it being free is great! I have never used something free that works as good as this. Instructions are great too! They even email you when a new version comes out.

  • Well, I am internet marketer and have quite a few websites. It is impossible for me to provide support without a central or core location to all these websites. I was looking for a cheap helpdesk software but found this one 2.5 years ago. Believe me I love it. It is of super quality and fanastic product. Best of all it is free. I know that developer is charging about $39 for it to remove powered by link but I feel for $39 it is still cheap and free. Thanks alot for this wonderful product.

  • This script on the whole is excellent. It allows you to make a knowledge base and for customers to easily submit tickets for you or your customer services team to answer. The only problem that I found was the script often failed to notify the ticket submitter that their question had been answered and this was a little bit fustrating. However I will continue to use this script until I find something better.

  • Email notifications work for thousands of Hesk users, so it is obviously a server-side issue. You are welcome to ask for help on the HESK support forum and there is even a Knowledgebase article about email sending issues on the website.

  • Hi, I worked with Kayakoe SupportCenter for over a year but because of my newly launched website I needed again a support script. And due to the recent price increasements of kayako I decided I would look any further, I found Hesk and the only think is the lack of multiple pop3 support but the quality of the product balances this out. With a support site it is important that it works because people are already in a 'specific' state of mind so they do not want to submit a ticket to see that the script itsn't working. Or never hear again because the ticket submission failed. I personally compared this script to Kayako, QualityUnit, H2desk and the free ones and my choice is Hesk, definitely!

  • 25 September 2009: Just what i needed: a lightweight tool, easy to use, robust, fast, straightforward, minimalistic user interface not to confuse users. I have hesk self hosted on my web site I recommend this script. 21 June 2010: I use Hesk since last year and I have to say that Hesk is really useful, solid, reliable and straight forward software: the best user friendly ticket software ever produced.

  • Hi guys! My name´s Pedro and I´ve recently bought a license for my domain , in order to update to the new version 2.1 i visited the hesk site. There is no information about the update proccess. Well, as I´m an experience "self-learned" webmaster, I backup my files before the update. So my rating is an evaluation global. Hesk is a powerful script by itself. I have installed in various domains and it have demostrate the power of simplicity, but I can´t understand why: - Have not VISIBLE instructions of updating proccess. - The update OVERWRITE script files WITHOUT PROMPT. - Have NOT SEPARATE folder for THEMES/templates. - Do not delete the older files not needed. I told that in order to provide an stable script for all kind of webmaster! ********** REVISED AFTER THE AUTHOR REPONSE*********************** First of all, I think I´m not thrasing your great work Klemen. After visiting again your site:, I cannot see clearly information about the update process or any forum address. Such a common user, if I check for new versions throught an upgrade page called from the script, maybe one clear reference (in the check4updates.php) to the readme file would be enought to see it before the proccess. If all the users find the information to follow the instructions at once, in the readme file, oks. Well... maybe I´m an idiot... but, I think you´re overwriting the original files of the script, header.txt and footer.txt (as you told in the upgrade process you do not need to upload these), but also the CSS and IMGs folder MAYBE USED TO CUSTOMIZE the script. CONSIDER IT. It would be great if the script prompt about the overwriting, believe be. I thought that during the upgrade the script would just inflate a bunch of files and update the database, but it doesn´t matter. I think I´m not wishing something strange... An also, again, I´m not thrasing your great work Klemen, good luck, I will use your script s always but expecting you´ll think in my feedback, s you said, like a "constructive criticism", and never as destructive. I´d contacted you sending the spanish language file, translated, maybe a bit of cortesy would be also nice.

  • I purchased another help desk software for my website but ended up using Hesk because of ease of use and functionality. Sooooooo much better than the one I paid for. Very simple to change the look and feel to match an existing website. Nice GUI...excellant app.

  • The installation was a breeze... tested on a WAMP server using windows... While the Email did not work me for me (I havent configured or tested it in detail yet), I easily find this script very nice and useful.. good design too.. unlike other ugly scripts out there.. 5 out of 5! Good job!!!

  • I have been looking for this script for months. Settled on another one a while ago, but I couldn't add custom fields without major coding. Hesk solved all my problems. I love it. It is easy to install and use. The readme has everything your need to know to install. I was almost to the point of paying the $200 bucks for a commercial script. Now I can buy his license and save my self $170 bucks. Thanks, OH BTW it is free, but you will support it anyway, it is so good.

  • This is a very professional script. Efficient design. Good organization. Easy to install and configure. Doesn't require accounts. Works as a private message system, which is exactly what I wanted since emails can be unreliable. Fits into my web site easily with just a little fiddling around with CSS. Add your own html to a header and footer that are provided. I wanted a custom field and it's right there in the Settings: ten extra fields if you want them. I couldn't believe it. The author thought of everything. Works great. Absolutely impressive script.

  • I have been using this script for over a year now and absolutely love it. It looks very professional, and is very easy to insert headers and footers of your own. I would recommend this to anybody looking for a good support ticket system. This is the type of script you would expect to pay a decent amount for.

  • The price is right and unbeatable, unbelieveable and unforgettable! Without even subscribing, the script was downloaded. I was lost after that, but went to the Forum for help and discovered I should read the Read Me file. I printed it and followed instructions step-by-step. So easy, even a HTML/CSS/Code Dummy Like Me, could do it! This was the most programming I've ever done. It worked perfectly and looks great with my header. Thank you! I found Help Desk from a link on another site. Thanks!!!!!

  • That's right not only is it completely FREE but it has all the features you would expect from a professional Help Desk script. Taking me ony three and a half minutes to install, I'm going to have to recommend this script to everyone. Well done!

Easy to install and I am glad to see that there are updates as well as a news letter to keep me informed. Congratulations on perfecting a help desk web application.

  • If I can install this - ANYONE can install this! I even had it working one the first try. While I have some tweaking to do on the looks - the functions all do exactly what I expected them to do. Documentation is thorough and easy to understand - even for the non-tech. I would prefer easier to adjust appearance, but that is the only drawback.

  • After a successful install I was not able to access the admin system due to a blank white page. This was using a a plesk control panel linux system and php4x.

  • The script works fine for several thousand users, the problem must be on your server. But don't expect a solution from HotScripts, there is this thing called SUPPORT FORUM on my website. Yes, I even provide support for my free scripts :-)

  • I came across Hesk helpdesk after installing five other free ones. This is by far the easiest to install as well as to use. Do not settle on a helpdesk program until you have tried this one.

  • I've been looking at a variety of scripts for my website for sometime. My main problem is that I am not a programmer and when I have found scripts using sql I have been unable to get them working. Hesk worked for me without any difficulties and if you add to that the professional look and functionality of this helpdesk script, it's fantastic. Highly recommended.

  • I'm using this script on my site and have linked it first to my custom 404 (file not found) page so that visitors can open a support ticket to have a missing file in my downloads sent to them. It installed painlessly in just a few minutes and is a great program. No fuss, just great software.

  • It's perfect for what I needed. A simple, easy to install script that was up and running in about 5 minutes. In case this can be of help to anyone, I am using the customer interface on a Joomla site as a wrapper element. It will take a little tweaking to get it just right but it incorporated quite nicely into the Joomla based site. I have no problem recommending this script to anyone looking for a simple, efficient help desk solution. Any plans to build this as a Joomla module in the future?

  • Hi there, I have been using hesk for a few months now and think it is great. This was until I discovered some dirty little hacker had somehow changed the username and password for the admin section, and applied it with unpleasant content. I have since removed hesk, which is a pity because i thought it was an excellent piece of software. If anyone has any suggestion what might of happend i would be grateful, i put all logons through SSL so i dont know how this guy did it. Many Thanks

  • I was looking for a clean easy to use Help Desk. I have tried out about 8 other scripts and this was the best. One thing that I would like to see added though is the ability to add more fields to the Submit A Ticket page. All in all though a great script. THANK YOU.

  • This is not a bad script, however its code is prone SQL Injection, which could lead to security problems.

  • Hello, Thanks for the comment, but if you examine the code in detail you will see that SQL injections aren't really possible. Each variable used in SQL statements is either defined within the script or checked by a function which makes sure quotes are escaped and html special chars translated into their HTML-equivalent. Where numbers are used (like "WHERE `id`=$id") the script makes sure nothing but a number is entered. If one would try a SQL-injection attack the script would simply throw out an error and not execute any code. In my opinion the script is secure. I would be more than happy to discuss any potential insecurity, but I don't think HotScripts is the place to do that. Regards, Klemen Stirn

  • Well, i was looking for a free TT-system, easy to install, not eating too many ressources (as others do!)... I was lucky to remember HotScripts, so i gave it a try. There are a lot of TT-systems, which are free to use. But: Every script had one or more fatal errors, which made me very angry. (Database not MySQL, too much traffic, heavy load on database, extra user for database, special extensions, Style not customizeable; etc...) Then i tried hesk... Well, of course, it can't be the best TT-system, because there are too many missing features (which makes working easier), but they aren't neccessary. And the best: It works on shared hosting!!!!!!!!!!! E X C E L L E N T ! ! ! Best wishes for further developing.

  • Hesk is great free software. I was looking for something simple that I could use as a support system and didn`t want to use those big complicated systems. A few alterations and Hesk is exactly what I need. Awesome free software that should not be overlooked.

  • I was looking for a good Help Desk application that was simple to install and not too complex. I have tested several that either required a lot of setup to work well (lots needed email piping setup) or were bloated with too many tools. Hesk was exactly what I was looking for. With a few minor tweaks, this is one of the best free Help Desk programs I could find.
