I was asked to do something like this by a colleague. I found a sample from a Javascript bible used for Table of Contents. It uses cookies and doesn't work well with PHP and doesn't have much in the way of features.
But jsTree is excellent. I am very impressed. I haven't looked at the pro version yet, but this is all I'm looking for - thanks. I will consider making a donation.
