We just set this up on our VPS, and it really works quite well for a freeware product. If you've got PHP and mySQL installed and know how to issue a few simple command-line database commands, this package is for you. Plus, it's quick and small by virtue of the fact that it runs as a mySQL database. My only problem so far has been that I can't figure out how to turn off automatic e-mail notification for all new posts (the option box is ON by default). It goes away if I turn off e-mail subscription entirely, though. One really nice thing is that you can edit the HTML and text definitions directly in the admin program and even use your own templates if you're savvy enough. I give this a 9 out of 10.

I simply cannot fully comprehend why this package hasn't recieved a review yet. We recently implemented W-Agora at sekhetargent.com to fill the role of a message board only to find that it dosent stop there. Its PHP based to begin with, excellent, database driven..even better, this allows for easy backup and archiving of all the data on the board..no messy text files for us. The Install process was downright pleasant, the current package is only around a few hundred k. Making it even more suitable for admins who may have slower speed connections. In fact it took me longer to upload, than it did to create my first forum. I highly recommend w-agora to begining and experienced webmasters alike. For ease of use and the functionality, (serves as an excellent file management system) you simply can't beat it..hands down.

I expected all sorts of problems setting this up, but was pleasantly surprised. Just FTPed it, set the permission, ran setup.php and Viola! And it has features than I could ever use. Give it a try. :-)
