Copy the preloader clip form root of the file and paste it in first frame of your flash file, move all your other content to second frame. When file loads the preloader will stop the timeline and will play the loading animations, when loading is done then it will tell its parent level to go to and play second frame (your file content). Can be edited with Flash MX.

This is made by duplicating a simple clip on the stage then the copies are rotated randomly and with a random transparency set. It is made with Flash 8 because of the "overlay" property of the clip.

OK, it seems that my last post (actually the very first one) was a total failure, so here it is again. This is a modified version of the XML Gallery Cross posted few weeks ago here on FFILES. Badawe made a great work on it, I've just modified a little bit to let you drag and drop the photos (now you have to double click on the photo in order to open it). A button that mutes / unmutes a sound with fade in and fade out effect. The sound used is property of www.jermai.de How to change the sound: - First do a "file > import to library" and place your file in the flash library. - Right click the mp3 file in the library, select "linkage" and type a name under the "identifier" field, press ok. - In the actionScript code make sure the "attachSound" refers to the exact same name you typed as identifier above. In this sample identifier was "jermai_smoke_on_the_hip_hop.mp3"

I saw this effect once and I thought it was pretty neat. Unfortunately, I haven't used it yet. It's a component so you can modify it as much as you want to. BTW: sorry for the colors!

A simple XML slide show made with flash mx 2004. It has a text preloader for each image. In xml file you can set the time to display each image: That means each image will show for 4 seconds. The images to be displayed are also set by xml file: You can add or remove as many images as you like. You could even load swf files instead of jpg, this was never tested but it should work fine. It can be used to display a cycle of swf ads for example. You may use the slide show in free and commercial projects as long as you keep the first lines of action script code, that is a link to author's site. Sample photos are provided by www.bigfoto.com.

A Google search box made with macromedia flash. It is a "component", you can change target frame (same window, new window, etc) in component parameters. Just like normal search at Google.com you can press the search button or you can just press enter to start the search. Feel free to add it on your website or in your flash projects.
