Simple applet to display the current phase of the moon. The images used in this example were made using KPT Bryce. The text that appears beneath the image can be switched on or off, and different images may, of course, be used.

The applet inserts a separator bar in the page, which changes colour continuously. You can specify the initial colour and the speed of the change via parameters. The various parameters of the applet also allow you to specify a lower and upper bound for the colour values and to specify a seed for the random number generator. By giving the same seed (and start colour) to two or more bars, you can ensure that they remain synchronized. The two lower bars on this page are synchronized.

This applet implements an analog clock using graphics to draw a crude analog clockface. You can easily configure time zone, font color, frame color, background color, etc.

This applet implements the digital clock, including specific drawing methods and parameter reading. The appearance of the clock (font, colors etc.) can easily be controlled through parameters.

This applet displays the population of the planet in real-time using the 'Odometer' class developed by the author. Source code available.

This is an earlier version of Slide Anagram. Instead of the letters sliding around, they just jump to the next position. This program is based on the NervousText demo which comes with Sun's java SDK.

This applet takes 3 strings as arguments and will slide the letters around from one string to the next. It assumes the strings are of equal length and that they are anagrams (i.e. they all contain the same letters). The speed of the sliding is a bit unpredictable depending on the client's browser type and operating system.

This applet will display how much time has passed since a certain date. Unlike most applets of this type, this program displays the time in a more human understandable format - Years, months, days, hours, minutes, seconds, rather than just days, hours, minutes, seconds.

This applet counts down the seconds, minutes, hours, days and years to a specific target time/date. It accepts a countdown date parameter, or uses the default date of January 1, 2000.
