liu
Most of the ideas in LIU are inspired from general image processing, computer vision and graphics books, and from commercial packages like PhotoShop, PhotoVision, XV, Image Magick, GIMP, etc. Programs can be run either individually or invoked from the main menu. They can start as applications or applets. While executed as an applet, it will not be able to save the results due to Java's security reasons and the "data" subprogram will not function properly. Reading multiple local and URL images is supported.

JFS
JFS is a simple, TCP/IP based network filesystem protocol. It allows applets running in a web browser to load and save files on a remote server, as well as send email and print documents through the JFS server. Because Java applets cannot access the filesystem of the machine they are running on, this provides a useful way for applets to store state information.

HouseSpider
HouseSpider is a Java applet that adds indexing and search capability to Web sites (and to local files and CD-ROMs). It can search by two methods: by spidering through the site, or by searching a cached index file. Spider-searching is slow, but very easy to set up and requires no maintenance. Cache-searching requires only a little more attention to set up and is sometimes even faster than CGI programs. HouseSpider also supports compression of the index file and boolean searches. Translations for several languages are provided, and it can handle Web sites in any language or encoding. The applet can also run as a stand-alone application.

JavaCounter
This is a Java counter and clock in one applet. It counts page hits, tells your visitors the local time, and provides an analog time display. You can use your own counter sets. Because Java applets cannot write to files, the counter function of JavaClock requires you to install a Perl script (provided) on your Web site. The counter supports any number of pages and/or users. JavaCounter can get along without digit graphics. It optionally generates text and digits internally.
