STPhp
STPhp is a PHP-based string translation suite designed as a simple internationalization tool to work without requiring non-standard dependencies; only the core of php3 is required, which means STPhp can be easily used in places where you, the code creator or installer, do not have control over the php binaries or configuration. STPhp is designed with a simple architecture, allowing you to store your translations in the manner you choose, so as to provide the highest possible performance with the lowest possible maintenance overhead. STPhp functions by externalizing the messages from your application, storing them until your application requests them.

Using JavaBeans with JSP
posted byedentdinJavaBeans
JavaBeans are Java's answer to Microsoft's ActiveX components. A JavaBean is the architecture for using and building components in Java. A bean can be either a visual objectmeaning you can change the properties of a component by changing a radio button or similar objector a nonvisual object. Rather than show you how to build JavaBeans (which could be the subject of an entire book), this tutorial will show you how to integrate JSP with a preexisting bean.

What's wrong with Perl and XML?
Although there are many excellent Perl modules dealing with many aspects of XML (among which a good dozen offer various ways of transforming XML documents), the languages that seem to be favored by XML developers are Java, C/C++, and maybe even Python. For example, questions on the XML-DEV list mostly involve Java, C++, and XSLT. Sun, IBM, and Microsoft all push Java or C++ implementations. Perl, the choice of many for programming on the Web, lags behind Java and C++ in the XML popularity contest. Michel Rodriguez shares his opinions on what's wrong, and what could be done about it.
