Book Viewer
posted byJason SilverinMiscellaneous
Create an old-fashioned library old style books from any text file. Many choices of book style are available. Automatically generate an index, with chapters and pages... the book even has a page-turning sound. Create any type of book by take a photograph of the cover and inside pages and splitting the image up into chunks for the script to process.
This is fun, and a great way to add some style to documents you need to place on the web.
Upload a text file to the Internet and let users view it as a real book, even turn pages with sound effects. If you have multiple books, they are displayed in a library from which to choose the book you want.
The words are set up to fit the page perfectly, and the pages are created automatically. The script divides the book up into pages on the fly, and you may scroll through the contents by clicking on the sides of the page. There are a variety of books styles available, and by scanning in YOUR covers and pages it is simple to create your own templates.
This script will create a table of contents automatically for books which have chapters.
What could it be used for? Maybe you want to post an online journal, short stories you've written, or even a whole novel!

Cookies with ASP
posted bystevenatorinCookies & Sessions
Cookies can be a good method for passing data between pages and especially for retaining data between sessions. Today, it's pretty safe to assume that anyone who is using your site can use cookies, since nearly every site that is non-static makes use of them(including all ASP sites that use sessions). It is also possible to set and read cookies using client-side code, but it is a bit more difficult. Reading and writing cookies using Active Server Pages' built in Request and Response objects is incredibly easy.

Its web interface presented allows you to administer SQL Server via any browser across the Internet - using the SQL Distributed Management Objects (SQLDMO for short). It allows you to view definitions for tables, views and stored procedures. It also has a built-in SQL query builder that allows you to execute any SQL statement against your database.

URLDecode
The author notes, "A while back I was creating a generic form processor that read in the form's contents via http post. While I received all the information from the form, the one thing that was bothering me was that the data was URLEncoded and ASP didn't have a native un-encode function. At this time I realized that I needed to create a function that would decode data -- next thing I knew URLDecode was created."
